Where can I sell my cpap machine

Post by LarryPer1 » Wed Oct 28, 2015 7:53 pm

I no longer have sleep apnea due to weight loss
Ebay won't let me sell there

Many Thanks
Larry

Have you been told by your doctor that you don't need your machine any more?? Have you had another test to find out? Or are you just saying since you lost weight you don't need it?

Weight loss usually means nothing in regard to sleep apnea. Sometimes you might be able to lower your pressure, but it is very rare that weight loss eliminates sleep apnea. If you have not had a sleep study that indicates that your CO2 levels are normal without the CPAP and that your apneas are minimized...you are guessing.

Bullshit! How do you know for sure? Have you had another sleep study?
Did you know that Sleep Apnea can actually CAUSE weight gain and losing the weight doesn't get rid of the Sleep Apnea.
Often, people who lose weight actually need MORE CPAP pressure.......not less.

Keep the machine. I suspect that the weight will come back and you'll need it again (actually you probably need it right now but are in denial).

You had a post from around the same day in 2012 asking about how you would know if you are cured or not. I think you just don't want to use the CPAP and have not wanted to for a very long time. You are looking for confirmation from someone here and then for someone here to aid you in selling something that may be helping your health in a big way.

An interesting progression........

What happened to the Bi-level machine? You were on pretty high pressures back then.
Then, you couldn't sleep without it.

Even with losing 70 lbs. and a lapband, I would strongly suggest you have another sleep study AND keep the machine.

Larry, Congratulations on losing weight and your apnea. I too lost a great deal and unfortunatly still have apnea. I think it is due to a small oral cavity and structure. I asked my doc about a new test, but he sees no reason as what I am doing is working for me.
I've tried to not use my machine and my husband is quick to make me put it on.
I know ebay is terribly stict and I can understand as pressure is unique to each of us and it''s a medical device.
But, I also know folks love a second machine to keep in their RV or Boat. I wonder if craiglist would allow such a sale under these circumstances.

Well.... what kind of machine is it? How much do you think you want to sell it for? How many hours are on the machine?

Some times people here are looking for used machines for backup if you want to sell it for good price..

Thanks for all the replies
The weight loss is just a guess for not having apnea anymore
I tested for 2 days by a reputable lab and they said I do not have it plus I don't have the symptoms that I had before
I can't test now because I have insomnia, but when its over I will test again,I have a new hmo and they will give me a new one

Machines as old as yours simply don't have much monetary value left...keep it in case you gain weight or as a backup.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
