I'm a 26 year old male who was just diagnosed with sleep apnea. I've been in good shape and work out regularly, but as people said above, sleep apnea can happen to everyone. While it sucks to have it, at least there is effective treatment for it. Also, finding out that we have it in our 20s is going to prevent a whole host of health issues when we are older. I was depressed at first to think I'll have a mask on me for the rest of my life, but it's really not so big of a deal. It's not like I have to wear the mask during the day :p

Anyway, I feel less lonely seeing another 20 something on here. I hope you are adjusting to your CPAP okay. I've had mine a week and I'm just starting to feel somewhat comfortable wearing it.
CPAP: Resmed Airsense 10
Mask: Nasal Pillows Airfit P10

27 year old, fit male here and I've been on CPAP for 5+ years. CPAP has certainly helped, but it's far from perfect. I'm less tired, but it's a pain. I want to go camping, which I do a few times a year, I just know I will sleep poorly. I'm married, so it makes bed-time be go to sleep time almost every time...a mask just isn't going to get my wife going

Overall though, I'm happy I'm on CPAP and not just going tired all the time.

Here's a news flash...the trick is to "get the wife going" before you ever crawl into bed.

I wish I had been diagnosed 20 years ago. A lot of struggling through life and 100 pounds later.

I was first diagnosed at 8. I had my tonsils and adnoids removed and it seemed to go away. I again was diagnosed in my 20's after my second child and gained alot of weight.

News Flash #2....You don't put on the mask until you are ready to go to sleep.
