I'm still new to CPAP, only 15 days into therapy. According to my doc, my apnea is in the mild to moderate range. According to my body, CPAP has been awesome--besides a couple of very small issues, so far it's been easy to fall asleep/stay asleep and I'm noticing that in the day I feel remarkably better than before. Not amazing, but much better.
I have a 2 night camping trip in about a month. I'm intending to rent an RV because it's getting cool here and I'm not a fan of tent camping in cold weather. I will be dropping a little in altitude from where I'm at; pre-cpap it seems like I sleep better in lower altitude. My question is, should I bring my CPAP? The area I'm going does not have power hookups, so I'd have to use a generator or figure out some sort of battery backup.
Part of me is saying to try to go without for 2 days to avoid the hassle of powering it but the other part of me is saying I feel better using it.
The RV generator is fairly expensive to run from what I've been reading, and I have no idea how long the cpap could run on the RV battery. I've been looking into purchasing a deep cycle marine battery as an alternative power source, and wanted to get an opinion on if that is a better option than the RV generator.
Also as a side note, I'm betting since the nights should be around 35-40 degrees I'll need enough power for a heated hose. And likely no humidifier, right?

Just add an 80 -100 AH deep cycle battery (best to have a separate one for the CPAP), and away you go.

No one easy answer for the best setup. Go to 'members' link up above, type in capnloki and search the many posts he's done on battery backups.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
Re: CPAP on an RV trip/powering it
Humidifier and heated hose will use alot of power. If you can get by without those you can get by with a much smaller battery or get more nights out of a larger battery between charges. I've woken up with a cold nose a few times but otherwise OK with no humidifier or heated hose. You'll find ample info if you search the forum a bit.

Re: CPAP on an RV trip/powering it
For 2 nights I use a battery, deep cycle if available but I've used a car battery for 2 nights without an issue as long as I don't turn on the humidifier or heated hose. I tend to sleep 6 to 7 hrs a night. I also use Respironic equipment so I don't have to deal with a 24v converter.

Re: CPAP on an RV trip/powering it
I was RVing full time when I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea.
I started with a Resmed S9 AutoSet with heated tube humidifier and a full size Oxygen concentrator.
For the next 2 plus years I simply used the 2800 watt inverter backed by the six 6 volt deep cycle batteries to power it all and the TV and heater if I needed it.
I have no idea what type of RV you will be renting, or what it will have for electrical power.
You should also be aware that the A10 requires a special adapter to convert 12 volt battery power to 24 volts to power the unit.
