Noob to CPAP and Group. AHI in the 50's...
Re: Noob to CPAP and Group. AHI in the 50's...
No need for all those screen images. The only ones that are important at this time is the first/top one you did from last night. The one that shows the AHI stuff on the left and on the right these graphs.
Events
Flow rate
Pressure
Leak
your flow limitation graph is remarkable so we don't need it.
Some how or other you are taking screen images of partial time frames which makes the events graph have lighter and darker sections and the lighter section is what is showing up on the flow rate, pressure and leak graphs. You are getting zoomed in and it is throwing off comparing the events themselves to the rest of the graphs. Don't do that. unless we ask you to zoom in on something.
Time frame on the events graphs needs to match the time frame on the other graphs.
I just turn the machine off when I get up but you don't have to. Looks like it turned itself off.
If using SmartStart on the machine if you take the mask off it will shut itself off after just a few seconds.
It knows if you aren't attached.
Let's try something totally different tonight....let's try cpap mode at 12 and not use EPR if you can handle it....use ramp to get you to sleep if you need it.
For now I need you to zoom in on a few centrals for me.
Go to the Events tab (on the left under the AHI category bars) and click on the Events tab.
From there click on the ClearAirway/Centrals category so that you see the listing for each central event...and then click on the event that is timed at around 4:20 and let SH zoom in on that event and the events around it and get me a screen shot of the flow rate at that level of zooming in.
I want to see the flow pattern zoomed in.

Those centrals don't appear to be very CSRish which was a concern of mine.
Get some rest.
Let's try a totally different approach tonight and see what happens.
CPAP mode at 12 cm with EPR off. Use the ramp if you need it.
If you feel you need EPR maybe use it only in ramp (there's a setting on the machine for that).
The clustering of OAs at the end of the night..not unexpected as your OSA is worse in REM sleep and that's when we typically have more REM.

Yep, that would work..no EPR.metsfan302 wrote:Just a flat 12? like min and max both 12?
I want to see if you are one of the people that EPR triggers centrals.
and I wand to see if you still have centrals at 12 cm pressure because there are parts of your night where you don't seem to have centrals and it's usually when your pressure is a little lower.

This is one of the most interesting case-threads I've ever read. Welcome MetsFan302. Looking forward to seeing Pugsy's plan succeed for you.

Thanks Scott but I don't hold out a lot of hope for stumbling on a fix here. I am just tossing out stuff in hopes that something might stick.
My gut tells me that the meds are the primary culprit here and discontinuing the meds is not an option at this time.
We have some time before the new sleep study and the new doctor's visit so just trying things to see if we maybe will get lucky and not have a truck load of centrals show up and still have the obstructive stuff decently treated.

Re: Noob to CPAP and Group. AHI in the 50's...
Well on my way home here in a few, Lets see what kind of craziness I can manage tonight as far as numbers etc
And here I thought the worst part of Cpap was the mask fart noises when I first started or talking weird when the wife asks me something before I fall asleep.... not these weird nightly reports. I am so thankful that I found this group and the response I received - I thank you from the bottom of my heart and my wife thanks you too and future children
And to think I did not even know what a Central was prior to finding this site. or almost anything for that matter cpap wise.
Going to make that adjustment you mentioned Pugsy and get this show on the road lol
Gotta laugh or ill prob end up crying
