Will I need a humidifier equipped Cpap Machine in Scotland

Post by Donasdhu2 » Sat Sep 19, 2015 3:55 pm

Hello, This is the first time I've tried posting. I am a new CPAP machine user. I am an expat living in California (very dry climate) and I need a machine equipped with humidifier. I go to Scotland every year which I know is NOT dry and we also travel to France, next year to Bordeaux and Dordogne. I am buying a travel CPAP machine do I need one with a humidifier? I'd appreciate any advice that can be provided as I am a novice.
Thank you!

Scotland (or France) doesn't really have much to do with it. Humidifiers are very much a personal choice with each user. As a matter of fact, many users start out one way and then will later switch to the opposite mode (like I did). I'd personally get a humidifier to start out with but if you don't you can always add one later.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

I need a humidifier in Eugene, Oregon. We have a reputation for cold, damp weather up here although the past year has been dry. Keep in mind that indoor air can get very dry even if it's wet outside.

I thought I posted in this thread--before the spelling of "Scotland" was corrected.
Maybe a duplicate thread? Yes, that is what happened!
