Sounds like you're about 3 times higher than the rest of us - most insce. co's give you a new one at 5 yrs... do you have a back up if yours goes out?

No not yet, I have an appointment with a new Sleep doc next month and I am going to get a new machine.... She has been a good one and I will keep her as a back up but am looking forward to some new technology,
At least they cant say I'm not compliant

So, what's that, about 6 years? I bet Den (Wulfman...) has a machine with 2 or 3 times that

Well, not really.
Not long ago I did a list of all of the hours I've put on all 10 of my machines. I just now updated the current two I've been using this year and the total hours is 30,582 across all 10 of them ( in about 10 yrs. 4 mo. ). But the highest number of hours is on one of those machines at 10,300. And that was a ( never-used ) machine I bought off of CPAPAuction.com in mid-2010 ( and is not the one I'm currently using ). I've rotated them to some degree over the years to try to compare the results from the different firmware levels that are in them. The one I'm using this year is the first (lightly used) Auto I bought in 2006 from a forum member and have put over 6,400 hours on it.

It's hard to make too much sense of this because we all sleep a different # of hrs every night.

True, but using some total hours a person can come up with some averages (if that's acceptable). I just did mine and it comes out to about 8 hrs. per night (give or take a bit) over the 10 yrs. 4 mos. I wasn't getting quite that average until after I retired six years ago......and have been trying to make up for years of lost sleep time since.

You didn't tell us what kind of machine. I have a couple ResMed S8's from around 2008 that are still going strong, although neither has as many hours as yours. I think, generally, these machines tend to last quite a while.

Really? Was it used when you got it? How is there so much difference between the user/therapy and blower hours?
Is it the "Plus" model? The other Auto and Pro models were data capable.

No when I got it, it had 0 hours it also had ramp set for max time and I couldn't take it so I would turn it on a half hour to an hour before I went to bed. But thanks to this site I found out how to turn it off. Also it is justa bare bones model only has compliance hours. But I have learned alot lurking here and that wont happen again.
