I have been using for 2 weeks and just developed a red rash under my full face mask. It is under the full mask and not just where it touches. I started using PurSleep three days ago. Could it be the PurSleep or just what I have been told is a normal reaction that some people get. Not sure why it waited two weeks. The PurSleep is the only thing new.
Any ideas - and how to make it go away???
rash after two weeks
Re: rash after two weeks
Stop using Pur Sleep and see what happens. No one has a crystal ball here.

You weren't specific on how long of a period of time you mean by "just developed".breathin breathout wrote:I have been using for 2 weeks and just developed a red rash under my full face mask. Before or after you started using PurSleep?
You were also not clear on what your definition of a "red rash" is.
I agree with what Julie said.
And, I hope you thoroughly washed your mask before using it. Many times they have chemicals on them which need to be washed off before use. And, for some, those can be an irritant. I can speak from experience with my first mask. I figured it would be "clean" since it was in a sealed package, but I soon developed a slight red line on my face where the mask had been touching it. THEN I washed it. Live and learn.

Re: rash after two weeks
I did not get the rash until about the 14th day. I started using PURSleep on day 12. It is a rash of small red marks almost continuous - not really bumps. I have used baby wipes since day one to clean it, also soaked and cleaned it with dish soap on day 12. I don't think Dawn for dishes would do it. I also started using the Citrus CPAP wipes the same time as PURSleep - so have even stopped that -maybe even that could cause it.
I have stopped PURSleep, the Citrus CPAP wipes - and rash is still there three days later. What is mask made of? I am not allergic to latex that I know of.
Maybe I will just have a red face for ever - and today I can actually feel it - a bit tender and tingly???

Re: rash after two weeks
There's no latex in masks... Get some steroid cream from the drugstore - should clear it up in 1-2 days... or see a dermatologist.

I had the same thing happen, this is what the doctor told me...called rosacea.breathin breathout wrote:I have been using for 2 weeks and just developed a red rash under my full face mask. (Rosacea is a common skin disease that causes facial flushing that stings or burns but does not itch. Rosacea also causes the appearance of small blood vessels, or telangiectasias, on the face; adult acne; itchy, burning eyes; and in the late stages, a red, bulbous nose. Facial flushing and telangiectasias are usually the first symptoms to appear and may be the only symptoms of rosacea for years. Why rosacea causes a red, burning face is unclear.)
He gave me a gel to put on it 2x a day, it has gone away and may never come back.
Something triggers it, mine was anxiety...everyone is different...good luck.

Re: rash after two weeks
You may not have had the same thing - rosacea is a 'condition', but what the OP has had is more likely an allergic reaction (to Pur Sleep, etc).
Re: rash after two weeks
Maybe, but my symptoms were like hers. A rash that just appeared under my FF mask and the outer cheek. It looked like a sunburn, anyway I was just sharing with the OP a possible cause. Needs to go to a Dr if self treatment does not work...Julie wrote:You may not have had the same thing - rosacea is a 'condition', but what the OP has had is more likely an allergic reaction (to Pur Sleep, etc).
