Stumped Part 2 or shall I say not as much

Post by sleepwiggler » Tue Sep 15, 2015 4:25 am

Below are my latest results. I took Pugsy advice last night as I am still working on things and changed my pressure from 15 to 15 being the min and 20 being the max. The leaks are also getting better I say much improved so a BIG THANK YOU to all.

Looks pretty darn good. Now let's see if it is repeatable...we know it will work so let's see if is sustainable.
I am talking about the pressure dealing with the event clusters...not so much the leak thing as occasional bad leaks happen to the best of us sometimes.
Again I don't know how much those clusters may have played a part (if any at all) in your dream activities but in my mind the clusters were a bit ugly and needed to be dealt with no matter what.

Not repeated last night. I for some crazy reason inclined my elbow around 3am and cut my machine off. I did not notice until I got up at 6. I have an IR camera with sound and video being delivered tomorrow so I can what the heck I am doing and saying in my sleep. Will share anything unusual with doc on the 28th.

Don't get to freaked out about what you did in the middle of the night. We've all done it and forgotten what we did. The important thing is to remember that you can modify you behavior over time and make positive impact on your therapy.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

sleepwiggler - which camera did you order? I'm curious about what's out there and how much it costs.

You know when I brag about something good the aliens are watching and they decide to visit me the very next night and screw around with me and totally mess up the previous nights' good data.
I am not the only one...it has happened to lots of people here...they brag and feel good and think they have it finally whipped and the aliens come and prod and probe and totally screws up the night. Some people here refer to them as "Pugsy's aliens" but they aren't mine...they screw with me too.
You will find that the aliens get blamed for lots of unexplained stuff happening....it's as good of a reason as any and we have to have a sense of humor about all this. It makes the bad times easier to accept and deal with.

I don't always have good nights. Last night was an unusually bad night. Couldn't go to sleep...then woke up a gazillion times it seemed for no reason and then for the reason that my shoulder was killing me because I was laying on it and I woke up 2 hours sooner than I wanted so the end result was not quite 6 hours of crappy sleep with lots of wake up. I haven't looked at the reports...I know the AHI is probably fine and the leak is probably fine too. I just feel like crap now...what little energy I had earlier today is long gone.
Shoulder is still incredibly painful so I foresee a stout pain pill at bed time and and earlier bedtime tonight.

Crap happens even to long time cpap veterans. We deal with it, blame the aliens if appropriate and move on....and maybe have a good laugh sometimes. I don't even have to see the reports tonight and they will still be there tomorrow if I want to look.

Here is the link I purchased this because of the weird behavior of acting out my dreams. I hope it will help shine some light on what is going on.

OH this is so true in everything we do. I had two of my company sales guys in my office yesterday, bragging about how much smoother things have been and wanting to know what I was doing different. I had to stop them and say hey don't jinx it. We are only one order away from disaster.

Yaconsult, see the link in my signature to how to make an IR camera and video recording using an ordinary webcam and a laptop with time lapse software. Sleepwiggler's camera looks good, but it seems the video recording file would be huge?

Sleepwiggler, let us know how you manage the file set up to record and review. Also, I am curious to know when you get it if the LEDs are actually IR. Some "night vision" webcams are sold implying they have IR LEDs, but they are actually visible light emitters.

BTW, most webcams can be made to "see" infrared simply by removing the IR filter they contain.

Thank you! That looks like a good choice. Please let us know what you think of it when you actually use it. It would be good if you synchronize the cpap and camera clocks so that you can go back and look at the video when events are logged by the cpap machine and you look at them in sleepyhead.

I have considered doing something with a raspberry pi and there are threads on this forum about building a home sleep lab. The raspberry pi noir camera sells for $30 but the one you are getting also has the lights, motors, app, etc.

Amazon is great on returns so you won't be stuck with it if you don't like the way it works.

So Wiggler, did you get this camera up and running?
