I don't know you and should not have called you stupid (even if you are a troll). I have sent you a PM and made an offer to help you through this; please respond.

Re: Finally got a hold of the DME
That's not necessarily true. In my case, after waiting for months I paid the DME a personal visit. The DME said that the insurance required them to obtain a copy of the sleep study. They claimed to have requested it, but never gotten it. And so the whole process stopped and would have remained stopped unless I got involved. I used my cell phone while at the DME and had the sleep study results faxed to them while I waited and then walked out with my new machine. When you have doctor, DME, and insurance to deal with, it can be a little tricky. Most people are able to handle it but it seems beyond enchanter. No matter how many times he has been told exactly what to do, he just can't manage to pull it off.flightco wrote:Nobody can be this stupid (and it does not take a lot of intelligence to be a troll). He's been told DOZENS of times to get someone (friend, family member) to HELP him and advocate for him. As far as I can remember, he never once acknowledged that piece of advice.flightco wrote:Which is why I said I should not have called him stupid and offered to assist him

Apparently family members are not helpful... don't understand, don't want to be involved.

Yeah, I remember that. But damn -- a friend? Someone at the doctor's office? ANYONE?Julie wrote:Apparently family members are not helpful... don't understand, don't want to be involved.
Enchanter is obviously incompetent and unable to make this happen. He says family isn't helpful, but has he ASKED them to help? He never says anything other than a brush off of the suggestion.

Re: Finally got a hold of the DME
I know for sure he's asked someone (family) who's very close and might be helpful under some circumstances, but for whatever reason declined to do anything... and I believe that may have been more 'about them' than much to do with Enchanter himself. They may not really be able to grasp the significance or nuances of the whole thing (it's not like a 'regular' illness after all).
Re: Finally got a hold of the DME
Well, if he is legitimate (still on the fence) there are enough people here that SOMEBODY could act as his advocate. But....Julie wrote:I know for sure he's asked someone (family) who's very close and might be helpful under some circumstances, but for whatever reason declined to do anything... and I believe that may have been more 'about them' than much to do with Enchanter himself. He would have to arrange to have someone act on his behalf. I question whether he'd be able to do that either....

I think it more likely that he ignores advice and being told what to do in real life just as much or more as he does with advice given here.Madalot wrote:Yeah, I remember that. But damn -- a friend? Re: Finally got a hold of the DME
It's frustrating. My mom said that she has her own issues and that this is all on me and she knows nothing about the condition. Yet she still insists I get checked for diabetes. She just doesn't want to get involved with sleep apnea.Madalot wrote:He's been told DOZENS of times to get someone (friend, family member) to HELP him and advocate for him. Re: Finally got a hold of the DME
Alright well I just called the doctors. She says she called Aprea but they just sent her forms that she had already sent. She also said something about the insurance having issues and was asking me why this keeps going back and forth. So she said she's gonna call them again ASAP and see what the latest is. You guys can call bullshit if you'd like but this is the truth. I'm not the only one confused, the doctors assistant is very confused with the lab, DME and insurance. She said the story keeps changing.
