Problem with pressure because of new mask
I have had me ResMed Autoset II for five years with the full face mask. My doctor had me try the new nose pillow in the office 3 weeks ago ( using their machine) and decided it was best for me. I received that yesterday and put it on my machine last night but with the pressure settings on my machine, it's blowing my nose off! Does anyone know how to change the settings on the machine?

Re: Problem with pressure because of new mask
I don't recognize the Resmed Autoset II. First off, the pressure should stay the same for proper treatment, not for the mask. YOU should pick the mask that is comfortable for you. Not of the "doctor's" choice. How does the mask feel?

Re: Problem with pressure because of new mask
Did you change the mask type from full face to pillows on your machine? That needs to be done but it isn't the cause of your feeling like you are using a lot more pressure. It just feels that way because you are used to the generally diffused air with the full face mask and now it's more concentrated.
You really shouldn't be reducing the pressure itself without watching the data available to make sure the therapy is effective.
You can go here and read up or get the manual for your machine. It tells about the mask choice selection in the menu.
http://www.apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-p ... tup-manual
It also tells how to get to the menu to change the pressure but I don't advise that at this point.
Instead maybe use the ramp feature and start out at a lower pressure and let it gradually work up to whatever pressure you are using might be a better choice.
Believe it or not but we do get used to those "winds" blowing up the nose and what initially feels like hurricane force winds will end up being gentle morning breezes.
Play with the ramp and/or using the mask while reading or watching TV so that you aren't under the pressure to fall asleep quickly.
I would use the ramp as first attempt to get used to the pressure delivery...all explained in the manual which you can get from the link above...just make sure to request the correct manual.
And don't forget to change the mask selection choice off of full face.

Most likely an S8 Autoset II. If the FF mask worked well for you for 5 years....why make a change?stormybreeze wrote:I have had me ResMed Autoset II for five years with the full face mask.
