My Respironics Rem Star Pro C Flex is out of water when I get up in the morning. Is this a bad thing?

If you have the HH turned on it is, the parts could get too hot. Jim
Plus if it's out of water, it's not adding moisture to the air.

If it was full when you started, I'd have to guess that you have the humidity set high and you are in a dry area,

I don't know what HH is. Not much was explained to me though I have been using for a long time. I have the number setting at 3.

Abbreviation for Heated Humidifier.

Various things can cause the tank to run out of water before morning:

Humidity setting set too high.

Mouth-leaking. If the user is using a nasal mask and their mouth is open during the night, more humid air is forced through the system and out the mouth.

Higher machine/therapy pressures. Higher airflow through the system can pick up more water vapor (similar to previous explanation).

The user lives in an area with low relative humidity........which will allow the air to naturally pickup and hold more humidity.

Sleeping longer than the amount of water capacity in the humidifier tank.

If, after you have checked all the things Wulfman recommended, there is a higher capacity humidifier available that will work with your cpap by another manufacturer. It's the Fisher & Paykel HC150. It has a capacity of 400 ml. Your unit is 325 ml, I believe. If you needed even more than that, someone figured out how to do them tandem. https://www.cpap.com/productpage/fisher ... difier.htm.

Thank you for your help and information. I do use a chin strap, so can probably rule that out. I will try lowering my setting number and see if that works. I get my machine through my insurance at IU Health Care, so must use what they give me.
I think I also should call them and ask some questions.
Thanks again.

Odd's are it's mouthbreath ing from using a nasal mask. You need software to read your real data, that's how you find out your true leak rate. You can't have success with XPAP TREATMENT until you can hold the needed pressure in h our airway. Jim

Welcome.

Please sign up for an ID and fill in the equipment on your profile. There's a link in my signature line at the bottom of this post to help.

There are 3 different kinds of REMStar Pro C Flex. Does it say "M Series" or "Philips" on it anywhere? Look at the pictures on cpap.com to figure out the model you have.

Along the lines of what Jim was saying about software.......
How old is your machine?
If it's 10 or more years old, it's not data-capable ( unless it's a Pro 2 model ).
If it's a Philips/Respironics System One Pro model 450 or 460 (in the last five years), then it's fully data-capable and software compatible.
