My new Respironics Dreamstation

Post by JasonK94Z » Sat Sep 05, 2015 4:05 pm

Just received my new Respironics Dreamstation. This is my first cpap machine.

I will try to answer any questions anyone has about it, but being new to this world, please bear with me.
It has wireless, Bluetooth, and even a cellphone modem.
They brought both a standard and a heated hose for mine.

Here are some pictures. If there is anything else you want a pic of, just ask.

The link provided is not able to be viewed as a login is required.

Pictures were also posted here:

And, from my point of view, with each "new" generation of machine they roll out, I love my old "Legacy" models more and more.

I am able to view the pictures using the link Jason provided, and I don't have any special login that I know of. What mask did you get, Jason? Did you see the new Respironics mask Pad-A-Cheek posted about last night? I hope you get great results with the Dreamstation.

I fixed the link in the OP.

She didn't have the new mask yet. She will get them next week.
I ended up with a Respironics Pico nasal mask.

Do you know which Dreamstation model you have? It looks as if there are at least 3, based on the discussion at http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread ... on-the-way

DreamStation CPAP
DreamStation CPAP Pro
DreamStation Auto CPAP

Was a pressure range or a constant pressure setting prescribed for you?

You are the first person on this board that I know of who has the new DreamStation. Inquiring minds want to know all about it!! It's exciting to see new technology developed.

In one of the pictures, the tag at the bottom says Auto CPAP. I want to know more too, even though it seems the BiPAP version won't come out for a while.

It looks like the picture of the bottom with the labels says "Auto" on it.

Mine is the Auto Cpap.

My pressure setting is 11-14. Ramp starts at 4 for now. Also has an adjustment called Flex? It's for exhale resistance.

And I thought the new ResMeds looked funny... I stand corrected, that new PR is just plain ugly as I see it. Why put the LCD screen facing the patient then put the hose connector elbow eight inches further away from the patient? Waste of space and not ergonomic IMO.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

From the pictures as well as the manual that someone posted on another board, it looks like the power adapter plugs in on the left side of the machine if the screen is facing you.

This would be an issue for me because my bedside table is on my right hand side as I'm sleeping - meaning that the power adapter would hang over the front of the bedside table. I'm surprised that they would design a machine where that would happen.

It's even worse like I stated with the power adapter plug being on the side of the machine vs the back.

I agree, it is not a sexy machine like the new Resmeds are.

The power cable has to plug into the side of the front section of the cpap. The backside of the machine is where the optional humidifier plugs into and attaches.

I have the machine where the side is facing me (front facing foot of bed).
Either way, the cord can wrap around the side and over the back of the nightstand. Simple enough.

Good pics, but in the future when anyone is posting product pics, it would be useful to post them with a ruler along one edge, so we can have a size ref. It looks as big as my "Classic Tank", I'm with Den, looks like we will stick with the Old Tech! Jim

Thanks. Do you live in the USA?

Once you get a few nights data on the machine, I'd love to get a copy of your SD card. I'll pass it on to Jedimark so he can have it to add it to SleepyHead once he gets around to it.
