Hi everyone,
I've been on cpap for 3 weeks. Sometimes when I sleep with the A/C on, I feel like I get better sleep. The days I have the a/c off, I wake up a lot more and the noise of the breathing of the mask annoys me. There is no leaks or anything, it's just that I can hear that whole darth vading inhaling/exhaling sound.
I believe this is why I wake up and rip my mask off at night. I cannot always have my A/C off but was wondering if anyone had similar experiences or remedies.
I've heard about a white noise machine and/or earplugs. I have tried a nasal pillow and do not like it since for some reason it causes acne. I like my nasal mask aside from the darth vader sound!

White noise machines, or a small fan in the room, usually helps.
After a while, most of us get so used to the sound of the machine that we have to check if it is still running.

I agree with a small fan helping for white noise. If you only need it to get asleep you could put the fan on a timer so the noise of the fan won't be more annoying at some point in the night than the mask.
