I am having a problem with my DreamWear mask fitting. I think it is because of my mustache. It keeps re-positioning and I awake not being able to breathe until I adjust it. Any suggestions?

This is an old post with many replies to wade thru... you'd be better off just starting a new post since the title doesn't reflect on your question. For the most response, put your main question and mask name in the topic line. Something like: Dreamware and mustache issues, please help.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

I wear it with a mustache, no problem. Tighten the back strap a little. Make sure you have the right size cushion.

When you say you wake up not being able to breath, is it because the part of the nasal mask, the part of it without the slit, is covering your (nares) nose?

If so, are the straps tightened to encourage the nasal mask to be centered under your nose? Versus one side being tighter than the other, therefore pulling the mask off to the side.

I have this issue when I try to sleep on my side and I really don't understand what is happening.
One side of the tube will get pinched closed when on my side but the other side should provide plenty of air flow.
The Vent at the Top of the mask may be getting covered but the nose piece also has a vent hole.
I just can't use this mask except when sleeping on my back.
My PR system one 550 also records groups of Many CA's when using this mask.
When I use a Nasal or full face mask I don't get the CA's recorded.

I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I personally can't hardly even imagine how there could be a nasal pillow mask any better then ResMed Swift FX. For those of you using this DreamWear, what is it exactly that you like so much about it?

To me, the tubes coming down the side of my face like that, would just be bulky and get in my way. ( I sleep on my side 90% of the time )

I tried the Swift FX early on, and couldn't adapt to it or any other nasal cushion mask until the AirFit P10 and the DreamWear, which are both minimalistic lightweight masks. I switch between them both and don't have a clear favorite, though I've been wearing the DreamWear for quite a while now without switching. I sleep on my side most of the time, maybe 75%, and the tubes are not anymore an issue than the cheek straps on other masks (like the FX).

Over the P10, I like that the DreamWear hose attaches to the top of the head and the cushion doesn't insert into the nares, it's not really a pillow mask, but a nasal mask with the smallest possible faceprint. Over the DreamWear, I like that the P10 has lighter, more minimalistic headgear, simply an elastic band.

Pretty much a toss up.
