Dr debacle and the non-compliant mother (long post)

I don't have a tremendous amount of new information, but I did want to give an update on how things are proceeding with my mother. I was starting to feel a little too much like I was starting to go from helpful into nagging mode so I decided to back off a little. My sister convinced her to go to the DME and get replacement pillows for her breeze mask. While there she tired on the ComfortLite II system and thought it fit her well. She ended up buying that and used it last night. She kept the mask on all night long and woke up feeling less tired than usual. It is far too early to claim victory but I think it is a good step. If she ends up with problem mask leaking we can try the pantyhose trick to make the mask a bit more secure. After she uses it for a while I can look at the data recorded on her smart card and see if anything is jumping out of the data. I am definately hopeful that things are going to pick up for her.

This is great news, Will! Just getting her to try a new mask is a victory. The fact that she kept it on all night is a huge victory! She is lucky to have you and your sister guiding her along the away. You are giving her a better life-- regardless of whether she perceives it as being helpful or just plain nagging. Good work!
