Sleepyhead results
I figured out how to get SH to work, not on my Mac but my wife's PC. I haven't yet figured out how to get the screenshot here yet. I will though, it's on here somewhere. I went through Pugsy's thread on how to read the data and it looks good i think, for last night. AHI 1.41, Large leak 0%, Obstructive 0.51, Hypopnea 0.9, Flow Limitation 1.41. Ignoring Sensawake for now. my Max pressure was 9 in an APAP range of 6-18. The Flow limitations are fairly evenly spread out, looks hike there were 7 spread over 8 hours of sleep. What's strange to me is theres a cluster of hypopnea, two OA's, An AHI spike to 7, and pressure spike to 9 right after my alarm went off and I woke up and took off the mask. Maybe about 5 min after. My alarm went off at 6, I got up within a few min, and you can see those spikes right at 6:05. Anyone know why it would do this? Seems like a false reading to me. Once I figure out how to post the screen shot I will put it up.

I hope this helps.

Re: Sleepyhead results
These machines can be fooled by awake/semi awake breathing irregularities. Remember they don't know if we are asleep or not for sure but instead they measure air flow. So "false positives" can get flagged when awake or semi awake breathing which is often much more irregular than we even realize.
Sometimes we call it SWJ or Sleep/Wake/Junk.
So when you see stuff that is flagged right at a known awake time....you just have to mentally toss it out of the evaluation.

Thanks Pugsy. That was my suspicion. I noticed the same thing on the other couple of days. I woke up this morning the best I've felt so far so I'm curious as to what my stats look like. I can't see them until 1pm so we'll see. Last night I dreamt for the first time in years, vivid dreams. Can I assume that's REM sleep?

Re: Sleepyhead results
What pugsy said. It's common to see things flagged at the beginning or end of a night's session as we are going to sleep or waking up. Sometimes we unconsciously hold our breath while rolling over or changing positions, etc. and the machine flags it but we weren't sleeping so it wasn't a real event.

Re: Sleepyhead results
Remembering dreams...usually we associate dreams with REM sleep but in truth we can dream in any sleep stage.
Also just because we don't remember a dream doesn't mean we didn't have any dreams or didn't reach REM sleep.
When I remember a lot of dreams it usually means that I have a night where I wake up often (you know they say we don't remember a dream unless we wake up during it or just at the very end) and that usually means a not so restful night's sleep.
But in general to remember a dream means that REM sleep stage was likely reached but not remembering a dream doesn't always mean that REM stage wasn't reached.

Re: Sleepyhead results
I don't know. That's when my machine shows the data on the lcd screen. Until then it's last nights data. Although, I guess it's probably on the usbLSAT wrote:WHY???Tdub210 wrote:Thanks Pugsy. Ok that makes sense. I am waking up 3 or 4 times a night but I'm keeping the mask on so for now I'm considering victory. I'm thinking since I had some rough nights before I was successful I'm probably catching up.
Re: Sleepyhead results
The data was on the usb so no, I don't have to wait until 1 to get it. Again I had events last night when I woke up. At around 3am and then this morning when I got up for good. I had an AHI of about 1.4 so if I ignored those wake up events I'd probably be close to 0. So I think I'm doing good. Something interesting though and I'm wondering what anyone else things, I have more flow limitations and hypopnea than OA's. Does that mean much? Especially if my AHI and leaks are low?Tdub210 wrote:I don't know. That's when my machine shows the data on the lcd screen. Until then it's last nights data.
