Techie Question Re: PR 550 and SD cards

Post by MarylandCPAPer » Fri Aug 14, 2015 9:28 pm

The DME for my new CPAP machine kept the SD card from my old, worn out Phillips Respironics System One Autoset 550 to do some printouts for me. I wanted detailed data from the last month of use, but he sent me a 90-day compliance summary and no SD card. I have called repeatedly re: the SD card and the DME sent me a new blank one, but that is not what I wanted.

So, I am wondering if I insert the blank SD card and turn on the machine, will any of my old data get written to the new SD card, and how long might it take? I would like to see the data in Sleepyhead, which I did not use prior to my PR machine croaking.

Literally, the PR machine is just a leaf blower now. When I plug it in, it blows air. To stop it, I unplug it. None of the knobs work and I can't get into any settings on the machine. The display shows the pressure the machine is blowing. I don't want to run the leaf blower any longer than I have to in order to get data written to the new SD card, if that is even possible.

Thank you for any guidance on whether the machine will write to a new SD card. I got a detailed printout about a month before the loss of my SD card and it appears it was still working in APAP mode, although it was taking me 4 to 6 miserable hours connected to the machine to get to sleep each night.

You will lose flow rate graph line but everything else for the last 30 days should still be on the machine.
It actually stores quite a bit of data within its internal memory.

Pop that blank SD card in the 550 and let it do its thing...probably will take 3 or 4 minutes. Just watch the screen and when it is done it will stop the "reading SD card" screen...or whatever the wording is...and just go to regular screen.

Stuff older than 30 days may be less detailed but you will have a pretty good representation of how the last month went.
I don't remember just how long the detailed graphs stay stored on the machine...3 to 4 weeks though.

The flow rate (wave form) graphs aren't stored on the machine because those files are large.
Those are the xxx.005 files you see on the SD card when the SD card is in the machine all night and the ones that are absent if the SD card sits in the computer all night instead of being put back in the PR S1.

Go ahead and try it..you will be surprised at the amount of detailed data you will have.

Thanks, Pugsy!! I tried it, popped the SD card in and voila, there is data in SH!!!! My PR1 is now too stupid to do anything except display the pressure the leaf blower is blowing at. I only got 10 days of detailed data, but that is way better than nothing.
