Good ideas... hope you let us know how it goes. But keep in mind that Cpap is not a weight reduction machine and you will have to work on losing by eating less, though it should be easier when you feel more rested and energetic because of the machine.

There are other settings on the A10 that may make your CPAP usage more comfortable, such as EPR and humidity levels. These are all subject to individual preferences. I don't use EPR and have not fiddled with the humidifier settings, but others may be able to give you some ideas on how to make adjustments that might make you more comfortable.

What kind of hose are you using--heated or unheated, and if unheated--Standard or Slimline? I realize you may not know which you have -- standard or slimline. The reason I am asking is that there is a machine setting that asks whether you have standard or slimline tubing, and if it is set wrong, it can affect how the air is delivered. The first night I used the A10, I was using standard hose but the setting said Slimline. The other machine I had used the standard hose size and I just switched it over to the new A10 the first night. I was told by a DME rep when ordering replacement supplies that Slimline tubing, which I was provided, is preferable with the A10. If you have a heated hose, there may be comfort features that others who use one can suggest. I have a heated hose but I haven't tried it yet.

I hope others who are knowledgeable about the comfort features will add some insight here that may help you. There are many settings on the A10 to try out to determine what feels best for you when you are sleeping with the machine.

Sammy if you live in Whitehorse you have access to the hospital and many doctors. Whitehorse is not a small city and has a very nice hospital, and it
is just as civilized as other cities in Canada, I have been there. We lived in Inuvik for 4 years, it is farther north than you are in Whitehorse and we were able to get all the medical help we needed.

Relax and listen to what the folks here are telling you and they will hopefully make your therapy a heck of a lot easier and your health will improve.
The big word here is RELAX, take a breath and let people help you out.
Good luck
Nan

You need ventilated (assistance moving air in and out of your lungs) with your issues with a bipap. A cpap with constant pressures isn't going to assist you this.
