Did you lock (slide the little switch to put it in read only mode) the SD card before you put it in your computer?
Windows 10 (and some 8.xxx versions) write a little file to the SD cards when they get inserted into the computer. Normally not a big deal except the ResMed machines don't want that little file on the SD card and will tell you the card is invalid and then you have to erase the card and start over.
To prevent that from happening in the future...lock the SD card in read only mode so that Windows can't put that file on the SD card.

Respironics machines don't care about that little file but ResMed does. Used to be it was only a worry with Mac users but now with the new Windows stuff...gotta worry about it with them too.

Windows 10 writes something to the card, windows 7 did not. The file Windows 10 writes calls for a reformat by the ResMed machine. Locking the card prior to inserting in the computer should prevent this.
SleepyHead will just add new data the next time you download.
later versions of SleepyHead automatically backup ResMed data

Ah now it makes sense was wondering why it was asking to erase it. Ok so I will lock it prior to inserting in the computer but then I need to unlock it when I insert in back into the S9 correct?

Yes you will need to unlock it when going back into the cpap machine...otherwise I think you will get a message "Hey..dude...the SD card is in write protect mode" or at least I have seen that message from my S9.
It will tell you if you just look.
