So you want to lose weight and control your diabetes?
Just get some pot
Recently, researchers from Quebec looked into why levels of Type 2 diabetes were so low among Inuit.
Dr Michel Lucas is one of the co-authors of a study linking low body weight and marijuana use in Nunavik. (CBC)
The study, called "Cannabis use in relation to obesity and insulin resistance in the Inuit population," analysed health data from 786 adults in Nunavik, and the results took them by surprise.
"People who smoked marijuana had lower [body mass index], lower amounts of fat on their bodies, and two-times lower risk of being obese," said co-author Michel Lucas, an epidemiologist at CHU de Québec Research Center.
He says that because marijuana users had lower BMI, they were less resistant to insulin, therefore less at risk for diabetes.

I've always heard that pot supposedly gives you "the munchies".......which would still be ingesting food.
I wouldn't know because I've never tried it.......and never will.

I can't understand all the virtues attributed to marijuana.
I worked with a guy who was finally fired because a chicken had a bigger brain than him. It was amazing how different him could be from day to day. Some days this poor guy was not able to remember anything I had show him (I was supposed to train him to do optoelectronic test on light sensors), or even remember that he has let a batch of sensors on the table or calibrate his work bench or even notice he was doing a wrong test.
I understood the reasons after he was fired and another colleague told me he was growing his marijuana for the year (he was from Cornwall ON, ) and it was good quality he added (yeah the other guy smoked also and had tested the product, another lost in his mind). I saw a lot of guys in my country, destroyed because of it.
I don't think marijuana is good at all, there are other effects which will take a tall in your life.

Good one Hose_Head!
The symptoms rosacer described are some of the same as untreated sleep apnea.

Well many people do drugs because they have issues they are hiding from. For some that only creates more problems. For others it helps and you never hear from them. I worked with the best hardware and software engineer I ever met, as long as he was using marijuana that is. I knew another artist that used it to control the pain (legally)
Like any drug you have to be aware why you use it and its side effects.
