Happy birthday. Thanks for the encouragement along the way!
Re: Happy Birthday to SewTired
Gasp, still tired. Napping only twice a week though, so that's good. Still, only getting 5-6 hours of sleep with one or more awakenings. Having my little mask issues, but I think it's going to come down to sticking with the Wisp Pillows. The P10 is great, but just a little bit too tight.

Oh! Only 5-6 hrs over too long a period is hard, right? Or are you one of those who can get 7 hrs and be fine?
Re: Happy Birthday to SewTired
Oh god no, I need that 8 hours. I'm just not getting it. Last night I went to bed and slept well until I was woken by RLS at 1:45 am. I didn't fall asleep again until after 4 because of the legs and slept maybe another 2 hours before getting up and calling it a night.gasp wrote:Oh! I have to have a hospital procedure in October, so if I still can't get the RLS under control with the magnesium/zinc/calcium thing, I will be going the next step into pharmaceuticals. It's worse in summer for me. Still, it's aggravating.

So sorry you need 8 hours and don't get it! That can be truly miserable. And RLS is no picnic. I just want to wrap you in a sleep blanket.
My husband moves his legs all night long sometimes keeping me awake. So I've started looking into it. The information I've read indicate iron levels are thought to be at the root cause. Also that summer is always worse. This time of year is the only time he wakes me up moving. Anyway, people seek meds and then summer is over and they thought it was being on the med for awhile, when it's actually summer being over. So I wonder if a cooler room (using A/C) would help. I think I'll suggest that to him tonight.

These are the steps I've taken. Last year was especially bad because I had anemia, so I have been taking iron pills ever since (325 Mg). His iron should be checked before he starts doing this because some people actually have too much iron and don't know it (hematomachrosis).
Next step was the magnesium/zinc/calcium. You can buy a combo tablet, but my doc wants me on more zinc (for something, I forgot what). Be aware that magnesium can cause nausea and diarrhea.
Keeping legs cool was important for me. I don't cover my legs at all at night. If my feet are cold, I just wear socks.
Loosing weight can help put less stress on the nerves, but I have inherited this condition (both my sisters have it), so probably not going to work for me.

Thank you so much for the information. Sounds like it's time for us to have a blood test. I'll let him know about keeping legs cool.
Again, thank you!
Again, thank you!

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
