You got one of the very first System One BiPap Pro machines. It apparently only has the one mode of operation. Subsequent model 650 machines had the second mode offered being cpap mode.
The machine could probably be upgraded to have that second mode but you would need to check with acbio.com to make sure.

I would just try to make EPAP pressure be equal to IPAP pressure if the machine will do it.
Meaning if you normally used say as example 10 cm cpap then set EPAP to 10 and IPAP to 10 (if the machine will let you do it) otherwise set it to EPAP 10 and IPAP 11 (or whatever the next step up is) and it will work almost like cpap.

Of course, your machine does not have Mode in the clinical menu. That function is part of the firmware in the machine, not some hardware property. The manuals (1061629 Rev 03) being referenced are version 3 and were issued in
9/29/2010, a year or more after your machine was built.

Firmware 1.24 does not support Mode.
Firmware 2.++ ( or whatever is the current version for that machine) does.

Contact Accurate Biomed Services Inc. to see what the costs will be to make the change.
Or set the EPAP to 1 cm H2O less than the IPAP from your current machine and that will be really close to acting like a straight CPAP.
Or, look on Craigs List, SecondWind, or even on this board for a gently used newer machine and replace it.

Like I said, just set the IPAP and EPAP to the same pressure and be done with it. We (RT's) do that all the time when we don't have a cpap around.
If you really would prefer a CPAP machine, I can get you a brand new ( zero hours) Respironics DS460 CPAP with humidifier, hose, filters, sd card, manuals, and case for $300.

Negative.

You cannot upgrade 1.xx firmware with 2.xx firmware.
2.xx wrote:Addition of a CPAP setting in the System One BiPAP Pro and BiPAP Auto devices.

These components are not compatible with the previously released version.
