was feeling the same way too recently after using my machine, and still felt tired the next morning... weekend afternoon nap was a must for me...

increased my min/max pressure from 6/16 to 8/18 since last Thursday night... have you ever suddenly wake up at 6:30am in the morning, bright and awake? that was how im feeling for the whole weekend.... and no afternoon nap needed

guess it was set too low for me, and havent checked or reviewed my result for awhile....

Julie wrote:I will say that your 5 setting is pretty low, just barely above the default machine setting of 4, and if you know how to bump it by a couple of #'s to e.g. 7 and see how you feel then it wouldn't hurt and could possibly help.
Well yeah. Most of us can't even breathe well at that setting. To have it at 5 all the time? My thoughts are that those low settings are intended for very small women with much smaller passages and lower lung volume.
Nope size has nothing to do with the internal structure and the pressure require to keep it open and neither has severity. Some people only need that much pressure. Lung volume has absolutely no relationship either to anything with regard to cpap therapy. Even at 20cm H2O you can not inflate a balloon.
I'm not disagreeing with you, but consider the fact that ALL your air is coming through this machine. Most of us report that we can't breathe when awake at 4 or 5. I'm not even talking about therapy. If it isn't the size of passages or lung volume, then how do these folks breathe??

she is right... it may take you some time to wrap your head around it, but she's correct.

Posting research results while not understanding why and how research is done is scary to see being argued. This 4 hour thing is a good example. The researchers are simply stating that with anything less than 4 hours they can detect zero impact of the therapy and that at 4 hours they start to observe and measure SOME impact. This does not mean that damage is no longer occurring at 4 hours. This means that the purchase of the equipment is justifiable if used for over 4 hours a night. Period. Full stop.

Just how much heart damage is someone willing to accept? I personally say ZERO. The person using the equipment should do everything possible to use the equipment every time they sleep, for any time they sleep without using the equipment, damage is being done.
Sleeping MUCH better now
