Because I'm really, really tired of the constant bickering, name calling, vulgarity, etc., on this forum. I learn a lot on this forum but the constant arguing, name calling, etc., really interferes. I have sent a PM to every forum moderator that I could find. I asked why this is being condoned. I asked the moderators to intervene and post a message stating that this behavior must stop, and if it continues the folks who perpetuate the constant fighting have their privileges revoked for a certain amount of time, and that if it continues, to be banned from posting. It's the same people who abuse and bully other people. This has to stop. Enough is enough.

But, for those who think it's "new" to the forum, need to go back through the (nearly) 11 years of "discussions" on the forum.
YOU AIN'T SEEN NOTHIN'!!!

So, If you THINK you have something new to report on the forum, try doing some forum or Google searches first and you'll probably see that there's virtually NOTHING NEW here.
And, if interacting with other adults on a forum is too much for you, do lots of reading (most of it is in the archives anyway) and/or put your little boy or girl panties on and tough it out. You'll usually be responded to in like kind by the way you post.

In other words, "as you sow, so shall you reap".

Ummmm.......do you have a list of all of those "unwritten" rules? (I know, a contradiction in terms......"list of unwritten")

On one level, it's kind of interesting and fun to see some of those old threads when they do get resurrected, but on another level, some idiot posts a reply that makes you wonder what they're thinking......(posting to a 6 to 10 year old thread).

Beware the person who wishes to legislate the morality and the behavior of his neighbor. Respect the person who accepts as responsibility, duty and sacred privilege the task of successfully moderating his own behavior. People who can do this are rare beacons of light. It is easy to point the finger "elsewhere" and imagine a utopia will result. It is hard to do the work and take responsibility to make your first utopia internal. There are no rules, no distant moderator, no respected member of the community that can legislate or moderate away our own foul dispositions. If this were not true, one of the many forms of government our forefathers have tried would have worked. For another example of the rhetoric used by people who advocate such a position, read literature from those favoring prohibition before its enactment. These people believed sincerely in their cause, they had good intentions and were good people but their actions were doomed to failure from the start.

How does all of that lofty philosophy play out in real life? In the most basic terms,
I'm trading value for value. I provide the domain, the hosting, the software and the moderation of CPAPtalk in accordance with my set of beliefs regarding human nature and business. You may use it free of charge, you may find a better board or you may start your own.

There will be no additional moderators on CPAPtalk. The core values of this board will continue to govern it. Love your neighbor and be a neighbor others can love.

Stop whining to the Goodman's unless someone is being threatened. They are not the recess or playground monitors and I don't believe they would want to shut this forum down but I am also sure they don't want to read this constant tattling from what are suppose to be grown adults.
