Thank you for the responses, this forum is so great
Since my last post I have managed 2 nights at only 4 hours a night because of congestion/cold issues.
But the good news is that I have had no further issues at all

I have rescan 5.2 up and running and so now to find out what RERAs are all about ...

I had something similar happen a few years ago with my Resmed S8. I had just arrived at my destination after being awake all night travelling. I was desperate to go to sleep and darned if the blasted machine did not whistle/whine in a very similar fashion to yours. I could not figure out what it was, and it was too loud for me to go to sleep and loud enough to disturb others in the house as well. I seated and re-seated the humidifier, I pushed down on the cover repeatedly trying to get it to close and seal just right, I connected and re-connected the hose, nothing worked. And now that it is 3 years later, I can't remember exactly what worked, but I do know that it was the hose connection to the machine. I don't know if it was moist or what. But I eventually got it to stop. The machine has done that a couple of other times, but by disconnecting the hose and cleaning and wiping the hose connector where it connects to the machine, it has stopped. When mine first happened, I had just flown from Colorado to New York, so a big change in humidity for one thing.

I would try cleaning and drying and re-connecting the hose. And as someone said, if there is a DME you can physically take the machine to for a look, that could prove valuable.

Good luck!

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

My A10 started whistling from the Airfit P10 nasal pillows last night. The A10 is also very noisy when I first hook up with it when I inhale. I have EPR turned off, as I have no problems exhaling. I don't think I have a choice at this point, since I got my dr. to prescribe the A10, but I would very much like to have a working PR System One Autoset machine instead. Mine made no noise at all for 5 years.

Yes I did thanks, drum roll ....... it was the humidifier tank seal. I swapped out the original tank for my dishwasher safe version and have not heard the noise since.
I can not simply return the original to my DME since my DME is cpap.com. They did offer to return the machine for an evaluation, but that process takes days/weeks and they stated not to return the humidifier just the machine, so i'm not sure if they would have a test for it or what they would do if i send it. Also shipping would be at my expense.

I've been using the new tank for about a couple of weeks with no issues, even after washing it. Now i could do some further testing such as going back to the original tank or taking the seal from my original tank and trying it in my old one. But for now I think i'll just keep calm and carry on

That is good to know, thank you! I have two humidifier tanks and may try swapping them out.

After you determined it was the tank, did you talk to them? I would think they may replace that without returning the whole machine.

Yep i will still have to pay shipping. Not worth the hassle. I think i would rather save up my pennies and treat myself to another dishwasher tack and put them on a rotation.

Wow multiple tanks.... In 9 years, 4 machines, each had its own tank, never replaced or had spares for any of them. Rarely bother to even clean them since I use distilled water. Rinse them out every month or so.

Its been hot in these parts, up to 114. Normally I'm at work so i don't notice it so much. Now I'm stuck at home and can't go out cycling etc, on top of that cable the TV and DVR have all been cancelled to save money. I have a pool but its too hot on my feet to walk too and even when I get in the water temp is 90 so its not all that refreshing

I started to get some congestion so the wife suggested allergies and said to clean hose, mask and chamber more often.

Yes it has been hot. We got upwards of 118. One of the few days where I couldn't touch the steering wheel after work last Friday. Truck cooled off by the time I got down the street but I had to use a towel 1/4 of the way home.

I swim in the pool at night... no hot feet, no sun burn, water is warm though.

This is my first cpap machine.
This is my 4th week using it. I did great for the first 3 now all of a sudden my machine is whistling. It woke my husband and I up! Help!
