Having problems getting data from new machine in sleepyhead

Post by yaconsult » Mon Jul 13, 2015 10:11 pm

So, long story short, DME was sent prescription at end of January. I was far too patient with them and whenever I called I got hung up on or disconnected or endless hold. Checked with insurance and had no other DME options.

I visited them in person without making an appointment on Friday afternoon. I was reasonably polite, but made it clear that I was not happy with how the case was handled. They pulled up my file and said they needed a copy of the sleep study but had no record of requesting it. I sat there in their waiting room on my cell phone and called the doctor's office to have everything faxed over while I waited. They stayed on the phone with me until the fax was in hand.

Then, magically, they had an airsense 10 auto in stock. Went in with the therapist and the first thing was that it wasn't the "for her" model like it said on my prescription. "Oh, it's the same thing except for the color!" I explained in detail about the "for her" mode and how it was different. "Well, we don't carry those." "Let me check with my boss." wait... wait... wait... "We can't get it." But the price is the same and it has another mode. "We can't get it." Sigh... Give me the one you have. When I got it home I checked and it had 35 hours on the blower so I don't know if it was a return or a demo but it seems just fine.

I've used it a couple of nights now and it seems fine. But I'm having some trouble getting the data into sleepyhead. I got the first night by loading the sd card on the computer. Then I tried swapping in the wireless sd card I've been using on my 550P. It looks like I can transfer the data, but sleepyhead doesn't seem to be importing it as I only see that first day. Is there any issue that I need to be aware of? Does it matter that the wireless card has been used in two different machines? Is there an issue with importing data from two machines into the same profile? It's really not clear to me what the problem is. I don't see any error messages or anything. It just seems to think that there isn't any data that needs to be imported.

Does the airsense create a new folder for each date? Because when I looked at the sd card, there was a folder that had the date of the first day I used it but there were data files in that folder for two days.

Finally, I noticed that the airsense doesn't have as many lines of data in the graph which kind of suprised me. Only five rows of data on the charts vs the nine rows of data on the PR. Do they just record a lot less events?

The pressure graph on the ResMed looks a lot less spikey than the one on the PR which I guess reflects the difference in the treatment algorithm between the two brands.

No, SleepyHead doesn't care how many different machines you have under one user profile.

Are you talking about the events graph? The ResMed machine doesn't do the same event flags that the Respironics machines. Flow limitation is a graph and snores is a graph and there is no RERA flagging unless you are using the "for Her" apap mode.
One of the things that I prefer the Respironics machines is the way the events are flagged separately on the events graph because it's much easier to evaluate than the graphs like for snores or FLs.

The wireless card issues....sorry, I don't know anything about them.

You did not say what software you are using to transfer data over wireless.

If you are using Sleep Master, you need to set up a different user profile with the new machine model selected.
