I went to the doctor for the follow up and she didn't find the leak info in the printed report.I went to RESMED and was told this machine doesn't give the info .I was told there the S9 AUTO SET does.
1) Is this important for my treatment or is only stastistics? Iam now looking at what prescribed the doctor in the first place and she had asked for the leak info. I have the machine for 3 months now and maybe they won't change it and I would have to buy a new one..By the way I am having great problems trying to grow accustomed to using the resmed.

the escape machines are the bargain basement, the escape provides no useful data, the escape auto provides a tiny bit. not sure about leak.

the elite and autoset are the machines, the others are basically only good for an emergency basckup.

I'd suggest going back to whoever sold you the near brick and raising a huge stink.

without data, you're pretty much flying blind trying to figure out what's wrong with your treatment.

Your doctor's statement that this machine is inadequate for your needs should be very helpful.
The DME filled your prescription incorrectly.
They can get in a lot of trouble. Use that.

Thank you very, very much for your help. I was feeling really bad and couldn't adapt (with very little help from the doctor who said if I continue being unable to adapt I should quit using the machine )I have been using it nightly
I have bought the resmed 3 months ago and it costed U$1000.Do you think there is a chance the seller would change it for another one? When I bought it I had the instructions from the Dr (Chief neurologist from the sleep center of the British Hospital )about the info she needed..

Get a copy of the doctor's original prescription.
If that was filled incorrectly, you should have a case.

I have just found the prescription of the Dr for the machine and of the data she needed.Next monday I will take it to the seller.
What do you think?: should I use it tonight and tomorrow night?
Thanks a lot !

Sounds to me like you need a new machine (auto-adjusting/data capable) and...... a new Doctor that doesn't have their head up their ass........... causing them to make statements like the quote above. This apnea scene is tough enough without having to suffer along with an M.D. that's uninformed and indifferent to your condition. Maybe the casual mention of a malpractice suit will possibly focus your doctor's attention a little more ! (if you're unable to change to a new one) I wish you luck !

I want to thank everyone that answered my questions . I got my Escape changed for an Autoset thanks to your advice without which I wouldnt have achieved this result as I was absolutely ignorant of the facts you mentioned.
I also got my mask changed. The original mask I had hurt ( meridian nasal mask size medium) but the new one (EasyLife Philips Respironics nasal mask) made the skin of my nose's bridge a complete mess, blistered and bleeding. Of course I put it on according to instructions (the problem was not due to misplacement) I have a normal size nose
What do you think would be the best nasal mask for me ?
Again I have no words to praise this site and your comments in particular. The outcome would have been clearly other if I hadn´t your advise .
