Hello there,
I have a BiPAP machine with high airflow pressure . The prescription is as follows:
BiPAP ST 20/16
Backup Rate = 14
I have an oronasal mask and I think it is not a very good fit for my needs as I am never able to get more than 4-5 hours of sleep.
I am thinking about moving to a nasal pillow mask such as the AirFit P10 Nasal Pillow mask; do you recommend such a mask for my prescription?
Thank you for your help

Can you please fill in your equipment profile so forum members can better tailor their responses to your situation? When you say have an an oronasal mask, do you mean full face mask?
To answer your question, if you can breath through your nose during the day, yes it might be worth trying the P10 as many members have found nasal pillow masks work at high pressures. Your mileage will obviously vary.

Ouds, you need to register first, then fill in your equipment profile using the User Control Panel.
The BiPap ST machine is often used for folks suffering from central apnea. Is that you situation?
It is not one of the machines commonly seen here and would be interesting if you could tell us some more about your apneas.

Re: Nasal Pillow for High Pressure BiPAP
Ouds, the Airfit P10 mask is pretty good for higher pressures including ASV and ST ventilators, and seems to apply the pressure more effectively than some larger masks. As long as you don't have a problem mouth breathing, I can't think of why this would not work out. Most DMEs allow a mask to be returned or exchanged within a short trial period and you might want to check into that policy at your supplier.
