Do I Need a CPAP or APAP?
So I went in for a second night and had a full night titration. The doctor gave me a prescription for a CPAP machine. Here is my concern. I didn't achieve REM sleep either study night. I was told that APNEA was worse during REM sleep. Also, I'm working on getting my weight down about 10 pounds and was told that would change my pressure need as well. So taking no REM sleep and fluctuating weight into account do I need an APAP or will a CPAP work?
Re: Do I Need a CPAP or APAP?
Get an APAP cause it has both APAP and CPAP modes and use the one you need, it's like 2 machines in one. If you use CPAP, one day you may want to try APAP.

So if the doctor ordered the cpap how do I get an apap?
Re: Do I Need a CPAP or APAP?
Ask the MD to write a new prescription for - specify the machine you want... because a few Apaps don't do data beyond compliance (like the Escape, or Plus models). The new Airsense 10 Autoset would be a good choice however.

You tell him what you want, and why! Anything you get must also have full data recording and be able to get the software to use it. Jim
Use data to optimize your xPAP treatment!
