Encore Pro waveform report unavailable

Post by PJuu » Thu Jun 04, 2015 2:03 am

Hello everyone!
I am using the Encore Pro version 2.11.6.0 and a Respironic REMStarAuto machine. I would like to have the waveform reports about my night, but the sine wave looking icon does not appear. I really think my data was downloaded, since the software shows me a green bar with the treatment duration (but no icon by its side). Do I have to configure something in the machine or in the software?
Thank you

PJuu,

In general Encore Pro only downloads the last night's waveform data. And yes, when there is a waveform available, there's typically a little sine wave looking icon by the date. But I don't recall any special procedure for making Encore Pro download the waveform.

However, you write:

Which machine are you using?

If you are using a PR REMstar System One (either series 50 or series 60), you may want to investigate using SleepHead instead of Encore Pro. It's easier to use and SleepyHead downloads all available waveform data, not just the last night's waveform.

If you are using an older Respironic REMStar M-Series machine, you're stuck with using Encore. But I'm pretty sure the M-Series machines do not record the waveform data.

Indeed, my machine is a M series I thought it did record waveform data

I have already tried the SleepyHead, but as you said, it does not work...

That is sad, Encore Pro gives such little information

Thank you for the answer anyway, robysue!

Actually Encore Pro gives you a substantial amount of information for the M-Series machines. It's just that state-of-the-art PAP technology has improved since your M-Series was built. At the time it was made, your M-Series APAP was a cutting edge, top-of-the-line machine. And its Encore Pro report that showed:
  • tick marks for each and every event all night long
  • the pressure curve for the entire night (so you can see how the machine responds to the events)
  • the total leak graph all night long
  • calculated AHI averages, etc.
was impressive. But since it was built, the manufacturers have simply improved the abilities of the machines to record more of the data.

Out of curiosity: How long have you had your M-Series machine? Many US-based insurance companies will allow patients to get a new xPAP machine every 5 years or so. So if you've been using the M-Series for at least 5 years, you might want to contact your insurance company and your DME about the possibility of upgrading to a newer machine

the M series does not record waveform data (I used to use one)

sleepyhead doesn't support the M and older series, as yo unote.

upgrading can be affordable if you take advantage of one of the forum members who come across good use deals.
