My sleep study was April 20... my apenea so bad that I started my CPAP machien April 21st. I have been through 3 masks and as they say 3rd time is a charm I thought I had found the mask that was good. It was working well and I was comfortable. Until about the past 5-6 days. I have now found my ask on my forehead twice and completely off twice as well as the magnet had let loose on other time... all of these found in the middle of the night. Now I still feel semi rested in the morning (Nothing close to the zombie feeling I had 6 weeks ago) but am frustrated because I am not feeling as rested as I did when I first started the machine. Do you think this is because I was just SO exhausted that my body we so glad to have oxygen and sleep that it just did it and now that I am feeling so much better it changes.
Those of you that have been on the machine for a while would you suggest I call my sleep doctor or wait it out?
Thanks for the guidance.

Re: A Bit Frustred
Hi - what mask do you have and which have you tried? Were you fitted properly - lying down (your face changes a lot then)? Do you know Cpap.com lets you try various ones for a small fee so you can keep them a few wks and then return if they don't work out?
And you can get (Cpap.com) power pack thingies for when yours goes out, but quite honestly if it's only one night, and you have a recliner (sleeping more 'up' than flat) you probably shouldn't be too badly off without the machine... others have invested a little more in different set-ups because they like to go camping, etc... try a forum search on 'camping' to see what they use.
But if you're asleep and power goes out, you'll wake up anyway because your body wouldn't let you just not breathe without your being aware of it... never heard of it happening to anyone.

Re: A Bit Frustred
I think the OP is talking about the mask coming off, not the power going off.
People sometimes do talk about a kind of honeymoon effect when they start on PAP therapy, where the first few nights go swimmingly and then some adjustment problems kick in. But taking the mask off may be contributing to the setback in terms of how you feel. People use various tricks to keep from taking the mask off while they're asleep, including taping the mask to your face in a couple of spots so that you have to work harder to get it off and it's more likely to wake you up rather than just go on sleeping without the mask. Others will see your thread soon and have additional suggestions.

She referenced power outages in another note that has otherwise not been responded to well.
