Periodic noise

Post by Ldecker » Sun May 17, 2015 10:44 am

I have been using a CPAP for over 7 years. Nasal pillows. My old resumed's pressure no longer functioned. Bought an S9. Now at times throughout the night the machine makes serious noise. Tried an APAP with the same result. Filter is good. Starts out quiet then as I go into deep sleep the machine sounds like it is straining. I increased the pressure with no change in the noise. Wife wakes me up--I am reminded of before when I woke up the house with my snoring.

If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!

Get the Clinicians manual here : http://apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-press ... tup-manual

What pressure is the machine set to? What does Sleepyhead tell you about the times it's noisy? Leaks?

It might help if you told us exactly which xPAP machine you have. There are many models of S9 and you also mention APAP.

Which mask are you using? Could it be the mask making the the noise?

The noise varies. I am asleep but my wife tells me it sometimes gurgles and sometimes just sound as if it is straining. As soon as I wake up it stops. Last night I tightened everything up and I think that may have helped.

Perhaps it you put it on a periodic table it might cancel out the periodic noise.

Sorry, couldn't resist.
