Resmed Sleepseeker going away

Post by wm_hess » Fri May 15, 2015 1:40 pm

Per email I received today..

We want you to know that SleepSeeker, the CPAP data tracking program for your S9™ machine, will no longer be available as of Monday, June 15, 2015. You can still sign into SleepSeeker to view your CPAP data up until that date.

Bill, are there benefits of using this program over ResScan?

Is your name William Hess?

Avi

I signed up and tried it a couple of times when it first became available. In emails with tech support, they agreed that Rescan software was much more powerful and had significantly more information. I still get mailings but have never used it since.

Wild Man Hess sounds so much more exciting than William but yes that's my name.

Thanks Bill. If so you might be related to Moshe Hess, or Moses Hess, about whom I learned in schools overseas in the Holy Land. This fellow was quite educated and not Wild at all. He was a Founder of Communism and a friend of Karl Marx.

Interesting Avi. Communism as an ideal is a great idea.

As Yogi Berra said though....In theory there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice there is.

There's always going to be someone who is 'more equal' than others and it will never work in real life.

I never used it and rely on ResScan and SleepyHead, but I am very curious as to WHY it has been withdrawn with no explanation, and whether or not it is related to this issue:

http://www.resmed.com/us/en/consumer/ne ... .html.html

and if not, what is the reason for SleepSeeker's unexplained withdrawal?

Regards, Nate

Nate, I really have no idea why SleepSeeker was discontinued. My guess is that it has been replaced by myAir. SleepSeeker may have just been a trial for myAir. From the amount of play SleepSeeker got on this forum, I doesn't appear that it was wildly popular. I doubt the discontinuation had anything to do with the failed ASV trial you referenced.

unless you're masochistic, I wouldn't bother it really is a pain to use by comparison.

Some of us like it better. I'd give both a try and see what you think. I use sleepyhead when checking data for my brother's machine since he has a Respironics machine. But I use ResScan when I check my data or my mom's data. We both have the Resmed S9 autoset.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?
