Lots of questions Help please

Post by rance22 » Tue May 12, 2015 4:30 pm

Ok Where to start.

I had been on cpap for 2 years and did not notice much of an improvement. Had another sleep study and my AHI was over 30.... 12 centrals 18 OSA

I am currently off work till I get this resolved as I am in the transportation industry.

I am currently using a demo machine. Its a Phillips Respironics system 1 bipap avails c series. my mask is full face simplus by F/P

did not have any improvement on straight bi pap so for past 3 weeks I am on following settings:

mode:s/t
avails off
ipap 11
epap 9
ti 1.0
ramp 5 min
bpm 10

I tried using sleepyhead but does not support this machine. ..I met today with respirologists. In general my centrals have decreased to 4 and OSA to 2 but hyponeas have dramatically increased to 13 for average AHI to 19.

The dr also prescribed zoplicone sleeping pill. on those nights my centrals are less than 1 OSA 2 hyponeas 10 for AHI 13.

1)Any suggestions on how to decrease my hyponeas?
2) any programs that will show my data on home computer?
Thanks Very much

If you sleep on your back, do whatever you can to not do that as it increases events...

Have you tried SleepyHead software - free to DL from the forum (see 1st 'Announcement' at top of pg) and works with Macs too. You could then go to Imgur.com to post graphs, etc. (not hard apparently - I don't do it) and then post the link to this thread so we can see what's what - though I might be wrong in that SH might not work with bipaps (think someone told me that in the past), though I'm sure you'll get lots of good ideas from others.

Welcome to the forum.

As far as I know Sleepyhead version:0.9.8.1-Testing supports your machine.

Here is the link to the download page and documentation:
http://www.sleepfiles.com/SH2/?TestingVersions

Hypopneas are usually an indication that you might need to increase pressure. You didn't specify how long you've been at the settings listed. Generally you need to "normalize" for about a month before jacking around with the settings. Hopefully, someone with experience on your model will post a better answer.

Ok thanks for the replies. I will try sleepyhead again.
I have been on current settings for bout 2 weeks... just found it strange that hypnosis increase but centrals decrease.

sleepyhead isn't working...i get following message

Sorry, your Philips Respironics CPAP machine (Model 1060657) is not supported yet.

JediMark needs a .zip copy of this machines' SD card and matching Encore .pdf reports to make it work with SleepyHead.

The model number you supply, 1060657, points to an AVAPS machine.
This is a specialized CPAP for people with some forms of central apneas.

To get data from it, you'll need to get a copy of Encore Pro or Encore Basic. Current versions should be able to create reports for you. Post a message for Pugsy and she will get you a link to the software,IF the computer you are using is a Windows machine.

unfortunately, it doesn't because the 1160 doesn't generate flow data...

and a couple other weirdnesses. maybe next version will have at least *some* support.
