I know some masks have a short hose, mine does not. Are you suggesting I add one? How does this help with condensation? Thank You
no, the short hose is part of the mask, and is unheated. so a cover for it can help condensation issues, when there is a short hose.

Palerider is NOT suggesting adding a short hose. Some masks have short hoses and some connect directly to the main hose. (Nasal pillows masks usually have a short hose.)

A short hose between the mask and the main hose increases the chances of rainout in the mask while using a heated hose because the air has more time to cool down sufficiently to trigger rainout.

What Palerider is trying to say here is this: If your mask has a small hose, then putting a hose cozy on the small hose can help to minimize the rainout. The hose cozy on the small hose provides a bit of insulation and that helps to minimize the heat loss as the air travels from the heated main hose through the unheated small hose and on to the mask.

So it has been a couple weeks. I've tried different humidity settings, Climate line hose temp settings, still getting rainout (a lot) inside the mask with the "Zest Q" mask. I then tried the regular Zest (no diffuser) for a week, no more rainout. My hypothesis is that the diffuser pad in the exhalation port is keeping the humidity levels inside the mask high. In 1.5 weeks with the Zest Q there seems to be what MAY be mold on the diffuser pad; dark black spots on diffuser pad that match up with the little holes on the exhalation port. Thats a shame because I really like the diffuser; you can't feel anything coming out of the mask, and its very quiet.
