I haven't been on the forum for a couple of years now, and am having a difficult time of it. I think this time my post will go through.
I love my CPAP and thank all of you for helping me get used to it a few years back. I even nap with it, and have become the ultimate "Hose Head", recommending CPAP to all.
My husband noticed a different sound from my unit, so I checked it out thoroughly, cleaned it thoroughly, and found no problems. I did notice, however, that my 90% Pressure reading has elevated significantly. I don't know how long ago because I have been terribly remiss in checking the stats. (I used to check them everynight, as all newbies). The numbers have gone from 1.2, or 2.0, or 1.4--never higher than those--to 8.2, 9.0, 8.7.
Could the difference in my breathing affect the sound coming from the machine? And what can explain the higher numbers? I'm in Florida and left my manuals at home.
I think I need a refresher course!
Thanks, again.

Re: 90% Pressure Reading help
I wouldn't think so, dinycat. That is a significant rise in your numbers. I'd take it to your sleep doc.dinycat wrote:The numbers have gone from 1.2, or 2.0, or 1.4--never higher than those--to 8.2, 9.0, 8.7.

Thanks, Papit, but I made a mistake. See my OOPS post.

Re: 90% Pressure Reading help
it would be good for you to grab a copy of sleepyhead (link's in my sig) and download the data from your machine, dinycat wrote: Could the difference in my breathing affect the sound coming from the machine? And what can explain the higher numbers? I'm in Florida and left my manuals at home.
the numbers you're looking at are just a summary, and like every summary, all the useful detail information is lost.
load it into sleepyhead and look at the trends, perhaps post some charts here for help in interpretation.
pugsy's pointers, (first link at the top of the forum) will give you a lot of great information about what it all means.
if you want to post things here, these pages give you great info on how to do so:
