I spoke to the dealer who was a real jerk about it. First he made the point of telling me he won't take the thing back if I opened the box and used it. Then he long windedly offered to contact the manufacturer and asked me what my reason was for returning it. I said it doesn't clean and the residual Ozone was doing me harm. He tried to challenge me on the cleaning and couldn't so he attacked the idea that there was residual ozone causing me problems saying I wasn't using it properly and interjecting the idea of having a doctor get involved. He sold me the machine without a prescription. He was a real tool trying to get me to hang up and I hung in there giving what he gave cussing him and refusing to engage with his con games. He accused me of being mentally ill and asked me what was going on in my town that made me so angry as if his manipulative patter and attacking my honesty wasn't the cause. At one point he asked "Are you with me?" and i responded and he kept saying it over and over until I said "get to the point". He then claimed he heard a click and thought I had hung up even though we had been exchanging responses over the question "are you with me?" several times! He called me a con artist after I pointed out he was trying to run a con on me. He tried to claim he sold "hundreds of thousands" of these machines and when I called BS then claimed that he meant that is his customer base which I claimed BS on again. Eventually he said call the manufacturer and hung up. I call that a win for me as he was clearly intent on trying to make me hang up so he could disregard my call.

Any tips on how to deal with SoClean when I contact them??? :D

I bought it on 10-23-18 so I should be OK. Thank you for that! I think I am going to like this site. :D

Oh yea what about the $30 filter kit scam they never mention!?

EDIT- The woman who answered tried to scam me telling me I had to return it to the seller! After I told her they probably would not have my Phone number in the system because I just mailed the warranty card on the 24th. I finally got her to transfer me and my phone wireless connection dropped out ! When it rains it pours. :(

just spoke to SoClean and the dealer is supposed to get me the RMA# to return it! The lady did act stupid and pretended to be having a hard time hearing me at first but responded to every word I said when I offered tips like "make sure your connection is good" she said she turned the speaker up I said "that is nota connection" then she said she had her earphones on tight and I said again "that is not a connection, where the earphones plug in is the connection" then I pointed out she was hearing me and replying and she started to act professionally.
I knew the dealer was full of crap!

EDIT
OMG I hate this guy so much! He just acted like the biggest tool and no apology or nothing for lying about how the returns go or the fact that there is a 30 day NO RISK return policy! then repeated what I said "You mean they said we have to get the RMA from them?" yes "we can do that" after all that BS!

Edit2 He said he would email the RMA to me. I sent an email in reply to the order confirmation email confirming this conversation.

Thanks for posting your experience with these shysters...

If reading this keeps other people from being suckered into the scam, it's great.

Be sure to chime in when we get questions about So-Clean 'bout 2 or 3 times a year here.

Thank you Sheriff. I intend to make a review thread with all I find out, especially about how to return them.
I accidentally came across a yelp page about the dealer I am dealing with and they seem to rip off people on things when a return comes up. Apparently they have even gone so far as to issue an RMA for masks or something like it and then never issue the refund after receiving it. That along with my strong suspicion they do what they did to me on a regular basis motivated me to filing a complaint with the State Attorney General.

I have not yet got my RMA# to ship back to SoClean number from the dealer.

"Son, you know I don't call you that cause you're so bright...."

I finally got the RMA# email from the dealer. He was a bit miffed apparently the Attorney general put the fear of god in him. I think I mentioned previously that I had found reviews that indicated he messed around with returns to other customers never refunding their money. Looks like he was using geography to gauge whether or not he could get away with it. He made a great effort in his email to depict the thing as him not knowing the manufacturer provided a 30 day free trial (they didn't they provided a "30 day Risk Free Warranty").
I went to look at the SoClean site since it clearly said "30 day Risk Free Warranty" and they even changed the wording on their Terms and Conditions page and now it says "30 day risk free trial: money back guarantee" instead of "30 Risk free Warranty". IDK if the Ag contacted them or what but I doubt they weren't informing "dealers" of the facts about their warranty regardless of the grammar they were using. This guy knew and is mad because I exposed his racket to the AG.
Anyway I called SoClean and had them verify the RMA# was valid, I have no doubt he would have given me a fake number if he thought he could, and I went downtown to ship it. $34 with $300 insurance. ($31 and change w/o)
My problem with the machine was the residual Ozone after using it according to instructions was negatively affecting my lungs.
What I found out other than lot of our fellow citizens will do anything to make money the SoClean has a repeat expense built in. there is a filter and a check valve that you have to replace every 6 months right now its $30 for the two as a package.
1. If you buy direct from SoClean you call them directly to get the RMA(return merchandise authorization) number you need to put on the box. And you ship it to them.
2. If you bought from a website or dealer you have to contact them and they contact SoClean to get the RMA number and give it to you. Then you ship it back to SoClean and once the seller has been told the item has been received they refund your money.
It looks like according to the address I was given (Returns/Resellers) that SoClean refurbs used machines and sells them.

I don't like cleaning things. When I saw the ads for SoClean I was intrigued but I assumed there was a catch. Last month I saw my sleep physician (getting the paperwork for switching to Medicare completed). I said I was curious about a machine I saw on TV. She knew I was referring to the SoClean & said it's fine. I had read one review from someone who thought it had broken down the seals on his machine. She told me she thinks that happens when there is residual soap or other matter on the equipment. Her father has been using one for 3 years with no problems. The big negative is that no insurance company would pay for it. So I ordered it.

The good: It does keep the equipment clean. I don't use the humidifier in the summer because it's so easy for it to become a petri dish if it's not thoroughly washed & dried. In winter, when humidity is lower, it is easier to dry it but now I don't have to. After 5 weeks the reservoir and the water in it are still crystal clear.

The bad: The smell. It gets a little better over time but it gets nasty again when you start a new mask (even if you wash & rinse it very well first). It's some sort of residual but it isn't actually ozone. Ozone (O3) is harmful to breath but the SoClean finishes running that through the machine in 5 or 10 minutes. For the remainder of the 2 hours the filter removes the extra oxygen molecule, turning it back into air.

The awful: For about a week, I've thought my machine was beginning to die. There were times when it was making all the right sounds but, when I pulled the mask away from my nose, there was no "whoosh" of air. Last night I realized it wasn't my Dream Machine, it was the SoClean. Where the tubing enters the machine, it broke down the structure so that the coils were completely loose & the tube behind it was porous -- no actual holes but it definitely wasn't keeping the air in the hose.

I know Medicare won't pay for a new tube every 3-4 weeks. I've written to SoClean to see if they have a solution. In the meantime, if anyone here has one, please let me know.

Thanks. (My first post)

The problem with people who swear by SC is that they have no way to actually know whether it does anything (besides smell). They say "hey it's so clean now" but do they really know that it was not clean before using it? It's called the placebo effect - if you want to believe, you believe, whether or not it's done anything.
