Noisy Resmed

Post by ecurb427 » Thu Apr 23, 2015 1:36 pm

I have a new Resmed Air Sence 10 that makes a wooo noise when I inhale no noise when I exhale when the water tank is full, the noise is quieter as the water volume is reduced, have not had a good nights sleep since I started using this noisey Resmed. I have returned to the supplier several times and they have made adjustments with no help, we tried another resmed Air Sence 10 they had on display and it made noise also but not as loud. Has anyone else had a noise problem with noise from the machine?

I have this on an S9 autoset when I exhale (but not when I inhale). In my case, it is quiet enough to be drowned out by a white noise machine on a very low setting.

Check that the humidifier tub is seating properly in the machine when you put it in.........the only noise complaints I have heard from others with the new Airsense is from the humidifier tub not being seated properly when inserted. If you look in the machine when the tub is out you will notice a removable air outlet assembly (can be removed for cleaning) be sure the outlet is installed properly so that the humidifier tub can seat against the machine's air outlet properly. It has a little protruding tab that should be under the retainer.

I have heard one Airsense user correcting the noise issue by purchasing a new humidifier tub, so you might also make sure the silicone seal between the two haves of the humidifier tub is properly seated as well.

I have used the Airsense since last October and it's always been very quiet even when my pressures get up around 14 to 15 cm. I think it is quieter than my S9.

Note: the picture above is from the clinical manual under the section concerning cleaning for multiple patients using the same machine........it is posted just for reference to show the air outlet assembly........it is not required for a single home user to dissemble this for cleaning purposes, unless of course, you want to. Just thought I would explain that before someone new asks if they should be cleaning it.
