Cpap Repairs

Post by Bill44133 » Wed Mar 25, 2015 1:46 pm

My backup Bi-Level Cpap machine's blower motor went bad on me. I was using it for the month of February just to make sure the machine was OK.... Well, on the 26th it went bad...

I googled cpap repair in Cleveland Ohio came across this company called TRC in Strongsville, OH. Strongsville is the next town over to me. I called the number and the man advised it was $100.00 to look at the machine and if I repaired the machine they would apply the $100.00 toward the repair. Dropped the machine off to them, and next morning I get call with estimate for repair for $580.64 to repair the machine add the sales tax $600+. That was way more than I could afford to pay. I told them I would pick up the machine later that morning.

On the suggestion of Wulfman...(Den) I contacted our forum member Accurate(Ian) who owns Accurate BioMed Services. I gave Ian the information off the TRC estimate and his estimate was for $250.00 less. Which was more affordable for me. So I shipped the machine to BioMed. The next week I get a call from BioMed wanting paid and the total repair was $198.00. Got the machine back last week and have been using it the last few nights and it is doing its job. Machine must be working quieter because my cat is not running out of the when I go to bed like she was in during the month of February.

I paid $100 for TRC to tell they are going rip me off. . I would strongly recommend avoiding TRC Inc. in Strongsville OH.

Thank You Ian for running a honest and fair company. I have great comfort in knowing of a great place for repairs if needed.

Just thought I would share my experience for every one to be aware if you should need repairs.

Just FYI...Often there are great buys on Craigslist.....I know yours is fixed, but, here is one that really looks good.

I kind of like this 750P machine it has a large humidifier tank in it. My house is very dry from the furnace running during the
cold weather. I can sleep all night and not run out of water in the humidifier not so much for the 760P machine.

I didnt see a 750P machine available on craigs list and that was the reason I want to fix it.

I wish you well...

Bill, thanks for the kind words. Accurate's people are among the best at what they do as far as I have experienced.

As to Craigslist, Accurate has repaired a bunch of those machines purchased from unhappy folks. There are bargains and there are turds. A pig in a poke as far as I can see.

That was exactly my thought...

At least with this machine there was something that I liked about it, and felt better fixing this machine and not getting another used machine with a big question mark on it.

Thank You again for the good service and quick turn around time..
