Supposedly the Respironics Optilife nasal pillows mask is discontinued. My equipment supplier wanted me to try a full-face mask, which I don't want to do, but of course they sent me one anyway. I'd like to be able to call them and request a specific product if I can, so I'm looking for ideas on a suitable replacement for the Optilife. Something as similar as possible.
Any ideas?

I googled the term "Respironics Optilife" and found several online suppliers of this mask. You might wish to consider either the Resmed P10 or Phillips-Respironics Nuance. Both have enjoyed great reviews from forum members.
Here are links to look at them.

Re: Optilife pillows mask discontinued - Similar product?
First of all while the Respironics Optilife has been around a long time and it wouldn't be impossible for Respironics to discontinue its production...I would suggest that you check with Respironics for confirmation because often DMEs will tell people so and so mask is being discontinued and push something else just because they have elected not to keep that mask in stock anymore for whatever reason.
Meaning you may have been lied to because the DME may want to change mask manufacturers and push a different mask that has a lower wholesale cost so that they can make more money.
My DME doesn't stock every brand of mask and not every model mask but they are at least honest about it...it's a business choice and if want something that they don't routinely stock then I either choose an alternate from what they do stock or I buy it elsewhere.
It's my choice and they are honest about it and I appreciate the honesty.
That said...I have used the OptiLife and I know that some people just love it but IMHO there are better alternatives out there.
I have no idea why your DME would push a full face mask on a nasal pillow mask user though. To me that's really stupid but DMEs aren't known for being smart or honest...I am sorry to say.
My first 2 thoughts...just like what has already been suggested...both ResMed nasal pillow masks...the Swift FX or the most recently released AirFit P10.
Also the Respironics Nuance nasal pillow is quite decent...and the Aloha (forget who makes that one at the moment) and the F& P Pilairo.
Obviously since I am using the P10 right now it is my personal preference but you might have different preferences than I do...so take my preference with a grain of salt.
I have tried all of the nasal pillow masks that I mentioned above. They all have various pros and cons (it's they way it is with any mask) I have a preference for the least on my face and head as possible and for ultra light weight stuff so that's the main reason for my P10 preference. I could successfully use any of them but my personal preferences always lean me towards the lightest of anything.

Did a quick Google and this seems to be in stock at a lot of places.
Sounds like you may have gotten some bad info. Anyway, if you like that mask a lot, purchase several right now and store them.
