Chin strap and AirFit P10
Does anyone use the AirFit P10 nasal pillow mask with a chin strap? I'm looking at the Ruby-style strap specifically.

Re: Chin strap and AirFit P10
i've been using a CPAP for approx 5 years now and have always used a chin strap (perpetual mouth breather). Not sure what brand the strap is but looks like the Resmed Adjustable strap, it is blue and just a single strand that goes over your head. Haven't tried the Ruby style one. have you used this one before?
Last week i got a new machine (Airsense 10 autoset) which came with the AirFit P10 pillows. i am still using the chin strap as well. the strap doesn't get in the way of the mask so haven't had an issue with the combination other than i'm fighting noises coming from the mask when i am breathing and trying to determine how to fix it. it's not leaking around my nose and the noise happens when i am breathing in and out.

Re: Chin strap and AirFit P10
I guess some may think I overdo it, but I use a papCap chinstrap, tape and a single horizontal loop of an Ace bandage with my P10.
I need the chinstrap to keep my jaw closed, tape to prevent lip leaks, and the ace bandage to keep the tape in place after it gets wet and to prevent chipmunk cheeks.
No, I don't wear suspenders with my belt, but I now have great cpap therapy. Earl

Re: Chin strap and AirFit P10
I use the P10 with the Ruby chinstrap. The Ruby is the only chinstrap, out of 3, that gently pushes my lower jaw forward while keeping my mouth closed. The other 2 that I've tried seem to push my jaw back and will increase my OA's. I hope this may help.KatyDidAgain wrote:Does anyone use the AirFit P10 nasal pillow mask with a chin strap? Re: Chin strap and AirFit P10
When I started with the P10, I had issues with mouth leaks. I tried a chin strap but it had a number of issues. I kept working with the P10 and after a month was able to train myself to keep my mouth shut.
Nearly a year now on the P10 - I'd like to shake the hands of the designers. I probably would have given up on CPAP if I was still struggling with a FFM.
Another fine tool is the hose hanger.

If your pressure is high, a regular chin strap may not stop lip leaking. I use the Ultimate Chin Strap as explained here viewtopic.php?f=1&t=103689&p=975600#p975600
