My nose is frozen and hurts

Post by Logies101 » Tue Feb 24, 2015 9:16 pm

Well seems like my agony is destined to continue, the first two months of CPAP were wonderful with my P10's. They were comfortable, didn't leak, all was good.
Then I came down with Bronchitis, not good.

Then as I posted a few days ago I accidentally changed my machine mask selection from pillows to FULL FACE and blew my nose up like Bozo all night long. I know y'all say the pressure would have been less not more but I'm telling you the FULL FAce thing was directed into those little pillows all night long. I thought the extra pressure was just being caused by the bronchitis, wrong, as I found out the next morning.

Next night I froze my insides and apparently my nose as well from breathing frigid air all night. Heated hose just can't keep up with the cold winter air even with my heater turned up, ugh. Not only did breathing the cold air make my bronchitis worse I think I actually damaged the blood vessels or something on my nose because it hurts so bad and I can't get it warmed up, seriously its' frozen.

I just can't seem to find a way to keep the air warm. I have the climate line up to 86 and have the hose covered with a blanket, still cold. I was thinking of putting a heating pad around it tonight, what do ya think? It's either that or I'm going to forego CPAP for the night and sleep in the recliner so my nose can heal. I ordered a Airfit F10 from Cpap.com and it's supposed to be here tomorrow evening. I'm hoping it will give my nose some relief and maybe somehow the air will be warmer.

Any and all suggestions are welcomed.

The heating pad is not a bad idea.

When I want to get my hose nice and warm (CPAP Hose )..... I place it right next to my body under the covers.......it can get very warm that way if your heat pad idea doesn't work.

Thank you TangledHose, I did try that last night and it was still cold. I live in a 100 year old drafty house with high ceilings and I freeze my butt off all night long. I think breathing all this cold air gave me the bronchitis in the first place Hopefully some relief is coming when we move next week yay!!

What's the temp in your house? I have an aussie hose and it keeps me nice and warm in the 40 degree temps we get down to in the summer in our trailer.
