I liked how the S9 max oxy line worked, less hassle than having to manage two tubes all the way to the mask, and this way the supplemental O2 gets mixed with heated and humidified air before it gets to mask ...... Works good, lasts long time

he added the yellow hose bib so he could attach the oxy line.M'ohms wrote:TH--

Took the normal ClimateLineAir heated hose, drilled a hole in the end cap of the hose connector with my trusty cordless drill (never leave home without it) .........then I took the Orange O2 bib from a S9 ClimateLine Oxy hose that I had lying around and inserted it into the hole i drilled, dabbed on a little silicone seal and presto the First Airsense ClimateLine Air Oxy hose
This is what the hose looks like before I operated on it....drilled the hole in the round, white end cap

The spot on the elbow where you installed the bibb actually looks like
there were already plans to put something there.
Where Resmed hesitates, the bulldog dives in.

I get it now. I was unfamiliar with the hose, and it looked like you replaced the actual hose with an O2 line instead. That's were I got confused. BTW, Tangled Hose, that's brilliant!

Re: Dual Humidity ASV and O2 Concentrator?
It's really pretty easy to do, you just have to pick a spot on the connector that is easy to drill and also an area where you won't hit any wires or sensors for the heated hose. I think the Frog is right, I'd bet if ResMed comes out with an Oxy hose for the Airsense they will probably have the Oxy tube in the same place.......it seems like that end cap lends itself to an accessory port or some other doo dad.
I have to admit that the idea sprang from using the ClimateLine Oxy Max tube on my S9, which is configured much the same way.........I needed that hose as a model, I am not that original a thinker

Re: Dual Humidity ASV and O2 Concentrator?
I hope that Phillips Respironics comes out with a heated hose connector that will accommodate an O2 line. As it is now, I don't think I can rig a similar set-up without hitting something important. Bummer...

Re: Dual Humidity ASV and O2 Concentrator?
I, (or tangled), or someone else "handy" could probably rig up something, but I haven't ever seen a prs1 heated hose close up.M'ohms wrote:I hope that Phillips Respironics comes out with a heated hose connector that will accommodate an O2 line. anybody have an old prs1 heated hose they'd like to donate for 'scientific research'?
hmm, or a spare 'heated lid'. *ponder*
might be easier to modify the angeled connector coming out of the lid than modifying the hose.... with the plus of not needing to modify replacement hoses.

Re: Dual Humidity ASV and O2 Concentrator?
The pressure from the asv can cause a backup of pressure in the bubble humidifier. This can lead to the concentrator alarming or wAter spewing from the bubble humidifier as long as you aware of these, no harm can be done.
Re: Dual Humidity ASV and O2 Concentrator?
never once seen this... of course, I've only got about 8 months experience with an asv and o2 concentrator.Cpap momma wrote:The pressure from the asv can cause a backup of pressure in the bubble humidifier. I'm quite dubious about those allegations.
