Splitting Humidifier Chamber

I just wondered how many people split the humidifier chamber for cleaning.
My PB H2O manual suggests splitting and washing in soapy water daily and weekly cleaning with 1 part vinegar and 9 water.

I dont split the chamber.

Mine cracked putting the bottom on, they replaced it, Now I follow the 11th commandent, "Go fourth and split no more". When it starts to look like the castaway's island, I will wash it. Now I just dump it every 4 days, rinse with tap water, drain and refill with distilled. stays looking like new, but I don't use heat on it. Jim
