REM tracking

Post by pig » Tue Jan 13, 2015 6:37 pm

Does anyone use any kind of equipment for tracking REM periods?

There devices like this available:

http://emotiv.com/
http://www.choosemuse.com/
http://www.instructables.com/id/Mini-Ar ... -Monitor-/

Soon we'll be able to do complete sleep studies.
It would be cool to use brain wave activity to adjust the machines Your needs may vary during REM. Right now the machines use secondary indicators, someday O2, CO2, Breath rate, brain wave. They'll be able to catch periodic breathing and dynamically adjust the pressure to stop it mid cycle.
When offered artificial respiration, be sure to ask for the real thing.

Do you know how the machines' algorithms work now?
