Help understanding vpap auto

Post by Greg Riddle » Tue Dec 30, 2014 10:56 am

Just git a aircurve 10 vpap auto. I think dme setup is wrong.

The max ipap 25. The min epap 19. And the ps is set at 6. Am I wrong in thinking that the settings will not allow the auto feature to work

use the actual words that are in the settings you're asking about.

there is no 'min inhale pressure' setting in the vpap auto.

no, you're not wrong, epap 19+6=ipap 25, which is the max the machine can do.

I changed the min epap to 13 and my guess was correct. I think dme misunderstood the rx the rx said min ipap of 19 and max at 25. That set the machine at min epap at 19 and max ipap at 25. With a pressure support at 6

It should be at min epap of 13 and max ipap of 25. With a ps of 6

With the settings the dme set the machine would always have a max ipap of 25 and min epap of 19 with no auto adjusting

I vaguely remember your settings: 19/14, is it? It should EPAPmin==14, with ps==5. Trigger and Cycle are important settings, too.

That's what the tech said after the titration. After the visit the dr said she wanted to set it I little below that and the max at 25. She said she wants to leave it that way and look at the days in a month to see what the machine says works. I'm sure I'll be monitoring my own data and making changes

As for the timing, I'll just have to wait and see
