Masks "for her"

Post by Elle » Sat Dec 27, 2014 11:23 pm

I am in Canada so will have to have Resmed masks shipped to an address in the US making it inconvenient for returns. I am wondering if masks for her are tiny (manufacturers assuming women are small)? I am not tiny and the small head gear for resmed mirage is too small so I am wondering if I should order "for him" P10.
Have any females trying the P10 found that the for her mask was a tight fit or was it average sized? I figure the pillow sizes don't matter since I would likely use a medium and they both have those.

I am now obsessed with cpap again. I was sick all year and had given up my addiction to this stuff. *sigh*

Welcome back. The headgear is exactly the same size for boys or girls, regardless of color.
Headgear stretches with soil and use, and recovers when washed.
The only difference is the pillow size assortment, males get S,M,L, while females get XS, S, M.
(((XS is for itty bitty nose holes.)))

Oh, that is good to know. I thought the pink one looked smaller in the demo video but I may just have been expecting that because of the "small" head gear for the mirage. Fantastic news. Thank you. Hard to ask "do you think this would fit my fat female head?"

it stretches, plus, you can adjust the split to make it looser or tighter... as shown in the video.

Just my personal experience. I originally had the male p10 and it fit very well. When I replaced the head gear I was given the female head gear. Found it to be very tight. Returned it the next day..DME insisted there was no difference in size just color. We measured the two and yes there was a difference. Wearing the blue with great comfort and success.

Wow, that's good to know Webbie. I just checked the site and they both have the same measurements.

well, everybody else (including resmed) maintains that they're the same size, of course, your new one wouldn't have been stretched out...

I bought a P10 online from "cpapclinic.ca". It's a great site for Canadians. It is in Ontario. Free shipping in Canada and a good return policy.

I bought the whole mask for $99 CDN! I bought the "male" version and an extra "female" headgear because my head is small and I wondered. The "female" one was too small and I returned it. There IS a difference in the headgear sizes with that mask anyway.

https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed ... ations-tab
On our host's product page, the same length is given for both colors. I believe them.
The material starts stretching fom the very first try-on.
It recovers when washed, though probably not 100%. (Physical properties of elastic)
Sometimes size is subjective. Maybe it was a "fat head day".

Well, regardless of what it says on cpap.com, I tried both sizes when they were both brand new - one right after the other. The "for her" headgear was simply too tight! The regular one is very comfortable. I bought them both AT THE SAME and tried each of them as soon as I got them to check it out. The "for her" headgear was too tight. I have been happily using the regular (so called "for him" headgear") for months now. It is still very comfortable.

It may well be that the regular (for him) headgear would be too big for some. I am simply sharing my personal experience and, as I said, I have a small head.

I understand that is what everyone states. DME was surprised and She did the measuring not me. Both masks were new when measured....in fact I had worn the female mask so I f one was stretched it would have been that one.

Production and quality control are not an exact science anymore. That could be the difference.

Your answer seems to doubt what I experienced.
