Climateline Tubing Extension

Post by Buster52 » Sat Dec 13, 2014 7:45 am

If I could get 2 to 3 feet more out of my ClimateLine Heated Tubing for the S9 series machine it would make my life a little easier. Does anyone know if they make a short extension or possibly a longer hose?

There are short hoses and there are longer hoses available but you lose the heated hose capability if you go with it a longer hose.
If you add a short hose you will lose some of the heated hose benefits at the point where the short hose attaches to the Climateline.

like a 24 inch standard hose you could attach to the Climateline but you will also need an adapter.

and 8 ft and 10 ft but of course not heated

That's a good thought. I think pretty much all the nasal pillow masks come with a short hose assembly. I always forget about it because I just take it for granted. The extra length the the nasal pillow masks plus their much more flexible and light weight properties is a good way to add length and I don't lose all that much heat from the ClimateLine.

This Tube is 18" long and I use it between my mask and climate line. https://www.cpap.com/productpage/circad ... -tube.html

So I take it this will fit and I will still have heat on my Mirage FX?

The P10 is a nasal pillow mask with an attached tubing that you would use instead of your Mirage FX.

The P10 hose is minimal and unheated but I've not heard any rain out issues from it. It is very popular too.

If you want to continue using your current mask the Mirage FX you will need to add a separate hose like the one Squid13 mentioned.
This one https://www.cpap.com/productpage/circad ... -tube.html
It is 18 inches long and of lighter weight than the ones I linked to above.
To use the hose on the P10 you would have to switch masks to the P10 because that short hose is part of the mask frame and not a separate item.

None of the extra hoses will have heat at those extensions. Heating will stop at the end of the Climateline hose but the air is still warm enough in most situations (depending on the temp used and your bedroom) to prevent rain out happening in the short hose or mask.
So you would still most likely have enough heat at your mask to be comfortable and get the job done in terms of preventing condensation.

I use the P10...and I keep a COLD bedroom (probably 55 degrees in winter) and with the Climateline set to 80 to 86 degrees I don't have rain out in the short hose or the mask.
I have never used one of those 2 foot hoses though...so I don't know what would happen with the the extra 6 or so inches if someone goes from 15-18 inches to 24 inches. I doubt anything significant would happen though and unless you are already maxing out at 86 degrees you could just adjust the temp upwards just a little if something did happen.

Does anyone know whether this short extension hose will fit a ResMed F10 mask? Almost all the time, I use the Airfit P10, but there are some days where the nose is just too stuffy to allow this, and I switch to the F10 mask. But I do miss that extra 15 inch extension hose. Will this product fit the F10 mask?

all cpap conndtions are the same size, otherwise the masks and such wouldn't be interchangable
