I'm sure there are unscrupulous medical practitioners out there. In the case of the first LLMD I saw, I trust him. He wasn't going to make that much money on me since we was only going to see me every couple of months if necessary. The lab work and prescriptions were covered by my insurance. With the functional/integrative doctor I'm now seeing, Lyme is one of the last things they usually test for. He tested me early because of my previous slightly positive tests. I've read so many accounts on the Web of people with bizarre symptoms for which no doctor could figure out the cause. They got sicker and sicker until they were diagnosed with Lyme, treated, and (usually) got better. I'm pretty sure these people are not shilling for any doctor since they rarely mention the doctor. Anyway, as you say, time will tell.
