blue and green blocking filter advice?

Post by fmj13 » Thu Dec 11, 2014 5:33 am

I am finally going to get red filters for the 3 light sources in my bedroom that continue to light up after the regular lights are off. The first, my Gear4 clock should be easy, but the other 2 I'm not sure about.

One is my air purifier and the light is not flat, but is half a centimeter tall and is shaped like the sharp part of an egg.

The other is my S9 Vpap - I don't just want to use scotch tape to tape a filter because I am worried about damaging it in some way.

Any advice?

Make an 'X" out of toothpicks, put it over the filter and tape the ends of the X to the machine.

The machine has a light that shines through the filter?

I'm completely confused - how is taping a filter going to cut out light? My S9 APAP goes dark after 30 seconds

Try wrapping with red cellophane from a craft store or Christmas wrapping. Tape in place or use tiny silicone rubber band(little girls hair). I find them very useful, also the larger thicker silicone bands which work well to guide hose or to keep hose cover in place if Velcro comes loose.

I just used black tape for things like the humidier.

every s9 that I've ever seen goes completely dark after a few seconds of use.

there's also these, I've used them, and they're really neat (like most things on the cool tools site: http://kk.org/cooltools/archives/22154

Wow, what a bunch of great looking stuff! Now all I have to do is figure out how to window shop without buying anything!

You got me too palerider, I am just about out of the very old black stickers I used in the past to write protect floppy disks. Have also used granddaughters' tiny stickers. Nice to have an alligator covering the flashing light on a Bluetooth headphone! Thanks for the link.

the neat thing about the lightdims is you can still see if the light is on, but it doesn't shine anymore. I have a network switch in my bedroom and all the little green leds on that would light up one wall, now with the lightdims over it, I can still see the indicators, but they don't light things up anymore

No, it is air vitalizer (a negative ion producer) and it has a light on it, it is hard to see in this picture, it looks like a little bump on the right.

Since I bought the air vitalizer my sinuses are so much better, I used to have to go months without cpap during the winter due to congestion.

Stuff is hilarious.. Pseudoscience. Try to find the device in a medical office, pharmacy or other normal medical supply site outside of off the wall self-promoting websites with circular references to how it works.

Hopefully you didn't pay to much for it.
